Earlier this year we heard rumors that HTC had a phablet up its sleeve. The company has teased it a couple of times, but an official announcement is yet to be made. It is expected that HTC will launch the device next month. There have been many rumors about the phablet’s specifications, we’ve heard chatter that it might come with a fingerprint sensor as well. New pictures of an allegedly leaked HTC One Max reveal what is said to be a fingerprint sensor on the back, underneath the camera.

The City of Marseille Needs Batman
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt looks like the citizens of Marseille, France’s second largest city, need a guardian. Of course they want the best. Batman. Residents of Marseille are fed up with the crime in the city. Gang crimes have escalated and the politicians are not doing anything.
So now they have created an online petition asking for the Caped Crusader to help them. A few thousand people have signed it and liked the accompanying Facebook page. Even though this is a mock petition, it sends the message they want. They are fed up and it is time for a change. The petition says that adding more police officers is just a band-aid that’s not curing anything.
Hopefully the city leaders get the message, because Batman is already too busy fighting crime in the U.S.

The SMI Eye Tracking Glasses has just received an update, which will aptly be introduced as the SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2.0. This particular design update will see a slimmer form factor, delivering an instant setup, 60Hz eye-tracking performance and a smartphone-based recorder, which happens to be a customized Samsung Galaxy S4 at this point in time. Although it does not look all that geeky, it will also ensure that the new electronics parts within and without deliver a far smoother tracking and shorter gaze time perception, at least that is what SMI shared. We still do not have any concrete word on pricing or availability for the SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2.0 to be made available for businesses, but I am quite sure that this will change in due time.
The SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2.0 will also be accompanied by options packages that will pave the way for a special combination that will feature 3D displays, 6D optical headtracking or Emotiv EEG recordings, and all of these would make up for a wide range of application scenarios. It has also been said that experienced researchers and professionals are confident that mobile eye tracking data which have been captured with the SMI Eye Tracking Glasses 2.0 will be able to add significant value to their work. The device measures 11mm thick and offers a 5MP rear camera with LED flash, 256MB internal storage, microSD support up to 32GB, Bluetooth 3.0, HD Voice and USB tethering, and will begin its global rollout next month in Russia, Germany, Switzerland and Poland. It has dualband HSDPA (900 / 2100) and quadband GSM / EDGE and will come in both single and dual-SIM flavors. The suggested retail price for such a package? 115 EUR ($150), which makes it more expensive than most Asha phones and featurephones currently on the market. It’s interesting to see Nokia push pricier models with a premium feel, but if there are plenty of places in which this kind of phone is wanted and encouraged, why deprive consumers?

Toy companies do have a rather difficult task on hand, where they will need to churn out a new kind of toy, one after another from year to year so that kids will always have something new and exciting to look forward to. Of course, some of these toys and games do end up as classics, but those are far and few in between. How about introducing an electronic update of the old Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robots toy? This is what the Battroborgs are all about, where it will be accompanied by a free Battroborg Trainer app which will depict various animations that make it seem as though the Battroborgs are “alive”.
Not only that, they do maintain tradition by performing a couple of things – to throw a punch with the left arm, as well as do the same with the right. Sounds too simplistic in nature? Yes, but this does not mean that it is insufficient enough to deliver a barrel of fun – or more. You “punch” via the hand-held radio controllers, holding one in each hand. When it comes to social networking apps, you could say that one of the most famous among them would be Foursquare, but that is also not to say that it is the most popular. Having already appeared on Windows Phone 8, here we are with word that it has finally made its way to the Windows 8 platform, which means Foursquare can now run on the Windows 8 PC and tablet, where you are able to download this particular app from the Windows Store.
The first announcement concerning Foursquare for Windows 8 was made at the BUILD 2013 conference earlier this year in June. According to the Windows Store description, it mentioned that this newly launched app will enable other users to know that they have already “checked into” a certain location, and apart from that, it will also deliver new methods to discover newer places to eat, shop, as well as make your presence known in the city. While during the very same BUILD 2013 conference, it was also announced that the official Facebook and Flipboard apps for Windows 8 are also in the pipeline, but there is no word on when they will roll out.
