What’s the First Thing You’re Going to Order When Kozmo Comes Back?

What's the First Thing You're Going to Order When Kozmo Comes Back?

Did you hear that Kozmo, the wonderful early-aughts delivery service, is maybe coming back sometime soon? Holy crap that makes me simultaneously elated for myself and concerned for humanity. We are all going to die from a terrible case of lazy and/or the economy is going to collapse because Kozmo is the definition of a terrible business.

All the Hats in Team Fortress 2 in One Image: Hats off to the Artist

Artist and webcomic creator Ashley Lange embarked on the challenge of a lifetime and emerged victorious. She drew all of the hats in Team Fortress 2 in one image. She didn’t include the hatless headgear and the miscellaneous items that can be considered hats, but honestly not even Gabe Newell can complain about her madness. I mean dedication. Thanks to Ashley, when the iPhone 9 comes out TF2 fans will already have a wallpaper for it.

Ashley used Photoshop CS3 and a Cintiq pen display to create the drawing. She almost gave up on the project because Valve kept coming up with new hats as she was working on the drawing. Fortunately she outpaced the company. The video below is a time-lapse of her drawing; the hatness madness starts at around 3:30.

For her next feat, perhaps Ashley should draw Gordon Freeman. Fighting all of Suikoden’s 108 Stars of Destiny. Who each have all of the Pokémon. Which are each wearing all of the Team Fortress 2 hats.

Here’s how SteamOS destroys Microsoft

This week the gaming-centric company known as Valve has announced plans to release SteamOS, a living room-aimed operating system that will be free to download and free to license. This operating system is based on Linux architecture – similar to how Android is a Linux-based OS – and the company intends on expanding well beyond […]

3D printer duplicates paintings down to the last brush stroke (video)

3D printer duplicates paintings with incredible detail, down to each brush stroke video

We’ve seen 3D printers produce some pretty amazing things, but nothing quite like this. Tim Zaman, a Dutch researcher, has reportedly developed a 3D duplication technique capable of capturing incredible detail, such as brush strokes and other textures on a painting. With a captured image on hand, it’s then possible to print a reproduction matching every detail, including raised brush strokes. Reproductions are created using an Oce printer that can reproduce large-format paintings at 600 ppi; the process resembles that of a dye-sub printer, with the printing head moving back and forth many times, adding a new textured layer with each pass. It’s a very cool idea, but don’t expect to fill your home with flawless duplicates — you’ll first need to get your hands on a priceless piece of art.

This Bizarre Cutlery Was Designed to Make First Dates Less Awkward

This Bizarre Cutlery Was Designed to Make First Dates Less Awkward

Everybody dreads first dates in their own way. Some worry that they won’t have anything to talk about. Others fear that they’ll be judged by what they say. And a token few are terrified—mortified!—that they’ll spill food all over themselves. For that cadre, I have a solution.

22 Photos of a Reporter Holding Inappropriate Things That Aren’t iPads

22 Photos of a Reporter Holding Inappropriate Things That Aren't iPads

Last week, one unfortunate reporter found himself live on camera clutching a big ol’ stack of paper—not the iPad he’d been reaching for. But because he’s a professional and because no one probably knows what paper is anymore anyway, our man soldiered on to hilarious results. But then you all did him one better.

Sixense’s Stem motion tracker may get Android and iOS support through stretch goal (video)

Sixense Stem to get Android and iOS support if it reaches stretch goal video

Sixense has so far promised only PC compatibility for its Stem motion tracker, but the company just teased us with the prospect of a wider ecosystem. It now says that Stem’s developer kit will support Android and iOS if the crowdfunded project reaches a new $700,000 stretch goal. Mobile devices linked to a Stem tracker could serve as motion controllers, virtual cameras and even head-mounted displays. As an incentive to make a pledge, Sixense is adding a pair of programmer-friendly pledge rewards: $149 gets a one-tracker bundle with no controllers, while an early five-tracker bundle has returned at a lower $299 price. Whether or not you chip in, you can watch a conceptual demo after the break.

$24 sticker kit makes your iPhone 5 look like an iPhone 5S

(Credit: Apple)

A gold iPhone 5S may be difficult to get at the moment, but making your old iPhone look like one is proving to be far easier.

A new set of vinyl kits from MobileFun that run around $23.49 (plus shipping) can make an iPhone 5 look like a gold iPhone 5S, or one of the other two colors — silver and space Gray.

It’s not as drastic (or pricey) as something like AnoStyle, which actually changes the color finish of the aluminum, but also means you’re not voiding your warranty.

It’s difficult to tell just how well the vinyl stickers pull off the look, as the store photos appear to simply be reposted versions of Apple’s beauty shots. However its creators promise to “replicate the iPhone 5S’ styling” right down to the metallic-looking ring around the Touch ID home button.

Become the Ultimate Grumpy Cat With the Cat Ears Self-Defense Keychain

Grumpy cat? He’s nothing. You know you are dealing with a real mad cat when you get stabbed by their ears in a back alley somewhere. That is apparently what this self-defense keychain is all about.

It turns out that a cat’s pointy ears are a pretty effective weapon. This keychain lets you carry around a very effective stabbing tool that looks like cat ears. Meow! Die! The cat’s face comfortably fits into your hand and it comes in several colors so that it will match your outfit. I’d suggest wearing red to match the dripping blood.

It’s available from Wicked Clothes for just $5.99(USD). It is cheap, deadly and shaped like a kitty. It’s also not available in a number of states or outside of the U.S., and you must be over 18 to order due to weapons laws.
