As it stands Google Glass is only available in the US, and when it launches, it is expected to be made available in the US market first. However in the meantime it looks like Google is getting ready to lay some groundwork which would help the company roll out Google Glass to regions such as Europe in the future. Recently a team of six of Google’s Moonshot team made their way to Brussels where they introduced Glass to several journalists and lawmakers, and they are also expected to head off to Cologne, Germany, and then Paris. If you’re a master chef or a home cook or someone who occasionally wanders into a kitchen in search of food, you’d know that your life is much easier with two hands. Cutting vegetables, washing dishes, using a frying pan and basically just doing things requires both your hands. That’s why it’s so heartbreaking that classically-trained chef Eduardo Garcia lost his left hand in an electrocution accident. But that’s why it also makes it even more awesome that he’s been outfitted with a bionic hand to help him in the kitchen.
RSA Security advises users to avoid encryption possibly containing NSA backdoor

There was, not surprisingly, palpable and understandable excitement greeting the arrival of Grand Theft Auto V.
This is a game that everyone seems to believe lives up to all the pulsations associated with taking a ride on the wild side.
Some, though, wondered whether this latest version of the franchise might be taking a walk on the vile side.
PlayStation Universe encountered a scene in which a fully-clothed woman is on her knees. A man is pointing a gun at her, while another is bottomless and appears to be about to assault her.

While the Windows Phone platform is commanding a very small percent of the smartphone market share overall, it is growing albeit slowly. This could be seen as good or bad news, depending on how you want to look at it, although Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer seems to be pretty upbeat on the matter. Speaking at the company’s 2013 Financial Analyst Meeting, Ballmer commented on the Nokia deal and talked about the Windows Phone market share, and how he felt that by having little to no market share was actually a good opportunity of sorts.
“Mobile devices. We have almost no share. I don’t know whether to say that with enthusiasm or kind of uncomfortable tension. But I’m an optimistic guy. Any time we have low market share sounds like upside opportunity to me. We’re paying to do it all day every day…It’s getting after it and really making sure we deliver the kind of revenue and gross margin upside that’s certainly there.” We guess by not having as many users to answer to, Microsoft will not receive too much of a backlash which is what Apple did when they ran into problems with Siri, Apple Maps, and the redesigned iOS 7 whose look might not have sat well with many iOS users. Either way it will be interesting to see how the Nokia deal will turn out for Microsoft, but what do you guys think?

The California Public Utilities Commission approved ridesharing companies early this year, but it offered only a few temporary guidelines while it worked on a formal rule set. Today, the regulator has published those definitive rules. Companies like Lyft, SideCar and Uber now have to get a CPUC license to operate under a new Transportation Network Company category. To maintain that license, they’ll have to run background checks, train drivers, hold a minimum level of insurance, inspect cars and drop employees who abuse alcohol or drugs. The requirements won’t necessarily eliminate tension with Los Angeles and other cities that believe they have jurisdiction over taxi-like services. However, the CPUC’s move gives California ridesharing companies a degree of comfort — they can keep operating in many cities without fear of being shut down.

If you have ever played the older versions of Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto way back in the day, you might recall the London expansion pack that would basically be Grand Theft Auto, except that it takes place in London. It was a novel idea and we’re sure many gamers got a kick out of it, but unfortunately if you were hoping that Rockstar do something similar again, except with Grand Theft Auto 5 graphics, you’d be out of luck. According to Rockstar’s Dan Houser, a new GTA London game would be very unlikely, although London is definitely a place the developers would like to revisit in the future for a different franchise.
Speaking to the Guardian, “I think for us, my gut feeling is, GTA London was cool for the time, but games were more limited then […] These days I think we would love to set a game in the UK, set in London, whatever, but I don’t know if it would be a GTA game. I think there are plenty of great stories we could tell about the UK, great environments to showcase, great gameplay mechanics that could have a UK bent to them–I just don’t think it would be a GTA necessarily.” What do you guys think? What other countries would you like to see the GTA franchise try to emulate?
