4 Questions All Mistresses Should Ask Themselves

By Melissa Fritchle for YourTango.com

The mistress role in the affair triangle is often either vilified as an unfeeling predator or overly sexualized as an irresistible temptress, but for the many women out there who have been the mistress, it is a complex, personal, and often difficult position.

The messages we get about love focus so much on how to get the guy that we often ignore the choices we make once he is interested. That fresh rush of love and lust makes it hard to think clearly, but if you find yourself in “the other woman” position, it is important for you to ask yourself some questions and to consider carefully how to best take care of yourself.

DOJ To Sue North Carolina Over Voter ID Law, Voting Restrictions

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration will sue the state of North Carolina on Monday in an effort to block an array of voting restrictions passed by Republican officials this year, a source briefed on the Justice Department’s plans told The Huffington Post.

The lawsuit, which will be filed on Monday and announced at a press conference featuring Attorney General Eric Holder, challenges four provisions of the voting law, known as House Bill 589 and signed by North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) last month. Voter advocates have criticized the law as one of the most restrictive voting measures passed since the civil rights era.

In addition to challenging the law’s strict photo ID provisions, the lawsuit will seek to stop North Carolina from eliminating seven days of early voting, nixing same-day voter registration during the early voting period and prohibiting the counting of provisional ballots that are cast in the right county but the wrong precinct.

GOP Lawmakers: House Could End Standoff With Up-Or-Down Vote On Clean Bill

WASHINGTON — Throughout the budget showdown, the mantra of tea party Republicans, led by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), has been “make DC listen.”

On Twitter, the Senate floor and in repeated interviews on Capitol Hill and on Fox News, Republicans have stressed their connection to the people and small-d democracy.

“I just think you saw members who said, ‘Look, let’s just do what we all know needs to be done and frankly what the American people want to see done,'” said Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a conservative wing leader, after this weekend’s critical House GOP meeting.

Lenovo teases Yoga Tablet that can stand itself up, shift its center of gravity

Lenovo teases Yoga Tablet that can stand itself up, shift its center of gravity

Looks like Lenovo and its executives are taking a page out of Huawei’s book to start leaking its own products, with the victim this time being an oddly named Yoga Tablet. Our source told us that unlike the Yoga laptop series, this mysterious device isn’t a transformable device. Instead, the main selling points here are the product will have a “leg” that can somehow stand itself up (and our source specifically said this is not a kickstand), plus it has some sort of mechanism that can shift its center of gravity, in order to give you the illusion that it’s lighter in hand. As a bonus, the Yoga Tablet claims to be the world’s slimmest slate with the longest standby battery life, according to Lenovo’s own “spy shot” above. If all goes well, we can expect this intriguing device to launch a month from now, as confirmed by Lenovo SVP and head of China, Chen Xudong, on Sina Weibo.
