Fable Anniversary Release Date Pushed Back To February 2014

Fable Anniversary Release Date Pushed Back To February 2014

Microsoft and Lionhead Studios announced earlier this year Fable Anniversary would be headed to the Xbox 360 “holiday this year.” It looks like it’ll be missing the holidays as Fable Anniversary lead designer Ted Timmins announced the game would be hit with a delay.

Just how long of a delay could Fable fans expect? Well – Fable Anniversary is expected to now release in February 2014, nearly three months after the Xbox One has been in the homes of those who picked it up as soon as it launches on November 22. Timmins doesn’t go into the nitty gritty as to why exactly Fable Anniversary will be delayed, although he does go into detail just how tough the decision was to make.

“It’s not easy making these decisions and I know that us asking you to wait a little longer whilst we get to play test the game every day is downright unfair, so over the next few weeks we’re going to be sharing with you more screenshots, more game footage and perhaps even some… top secret announcements!”

Top secret announcements, eh? We could only hope one of those announcements is Fable Anniversary headed to the Xbox One in addition to its original Xbox 360 release. We’re sure by February, many Xbox One owners will completely forget they ever had an Xbox 360, so an Xbox One release would certainly be a welcomed bit of news.

Distro Issue 107 How Edward Thorp gambled his way into wearabletech history

Edward Thorp was banned from casinos in Vegas for counting cards. He even published a book on his system for winning at the blackjack table using the mathematical theory of probability. While working at MIT, he built what many consider the first wearable device for — you guessed it — beating roulette. In a fresh issue of our weekly, Donald Melanson profiles Thorp’s gaming of the system and how he ended up the unlikely father of wearable computing. Eyes-On has a look at Sennheiser’s cans, Hands-on grabs up both of the new iPhones and IRL takes a gaming focus. Alienware Aurora gaming desktop elevates gaming rigs to the next level

alienware-auroraSome gamers like to build their gaming rigs from scratch, as they have plenty of choice and flexibility without busting their budget. Others, however, prefer an established name to get the job done for them already, and most of the time, these high powered gaming machines need very little fine tuning, so to speak, as it already comes with an insane amount of processing muscle underneath the hood. The Alienware Aurora gaming desktop can be considered to be such a device, where it has been specially engineered to deliver extreme performance thanks to the inclusion of the new Ivy Bridge-E family of Intel Core i7 4- and 6-core processors.

Not only that, throwing in next generation NVIDIA and AMD graphics up the ante even more, where it delivers an intense gaming experience with realism that even Alienware themselves have never offered. If you happen to have deep pockets, you might want to settle for the optional ALX chassis that boasts of an intelligent thermal management system with Active Venting technology so that everything will run nice and cool even under demanding gaming sessions.

As mentioned earlier, the Aurora would now include the latest Intel Core i7 processors, with an Extreme Edition option to boot, while they can achieve overclock speeds of up to 4.3GHz with Turbo Boost technology. Not only that, the latest NVIDIA GeForce 700-series graphics and AMD 8900-series graphics options are also part of the mix, while support for quad-channel DDR3 memory ensures that you can move along with the times (or as and when your budget permits).

There is also an updated Alienware Command Center software that offers intuitive, user-friendly access to Alienware-exclusive applications and controls, all located under one centralized hub. The Command Center will be accompanied by the exclusive AlienFX lighting control system, letting you create your own custom lighting themes and special effects for that added “wow” factor, making it ideal to impress your mates. The Alienware Aurora has been made available since September 11 in select territories, with a starting price point of $1,399 upward, depending on the innards that you want it to come with.

I have to say though, if I saw these on a girl that I know, I would have a hard time not pushing those buttons and annoying her. Countless hours of Playstation gaming have conditioned me to want to press on those symbols and see what happens.

They would make a great gift. You can find them at resetbuttons Etsy shop for just $20(USD). Xbox and Wii fans, no need to feel left out. Resetbuttons has got you covered.

Triposo Travel Belt vibrates to help you locate attractions (video)

Triposo Travel Belt vibrates to help you locate attractions video

A decade ago, all but the most connected of travelers would leave phones and other devices at home, opting instead to plan visits to restaurants, museums and other tourist sites from a paperback book. Now, with mobile data and services like KeepGo enabling cheap roaming when you’re abroad, there’s more incentive to bring those gadgets along, powering exploration in real time with crowdsourced recommendations from a mobile app. One such application, however, will soon employ an unusual solution that’ll let you keep your handset tucked away, without wandering astray.

The Triposo Travel Belt communicates with a companion app through a wired connection — developers opted for a standard 3.5mm cable that plugs into a headphone jack, rather than Bluetooth, keeping things simple and maximizing compatibility. After you select a destination, the app will push directions through the headphone jack to four vibration motors, which activate based on your orientation and the direction of your destination. The belt will vibrate in the front, back, or either side to guide you to a pre-selected address or POI. There’s a working prototype out and about, but the creators need some cash to get the belt to production. You can help with a $30 $50 Indiegogo pledge, which should get you a Travel Belt in hand by February. There’s a demo video, too, posted after the break.

Update: Since going live with its Indiegogo page, the company has raised the price of the belt from $30 to $50.

9 Massive Refugee Camps That Are Home to Nearly 1.5 Million People

While the Arab Spring and its resulting political upheavals have firmly held the world’s attention over the past two years, the Middle East’s conflicts are, sadly, far from the only ones going on. Wars in North, West, and East Africa have displaced millions of people and killed untold more. Those lucky enough to escape with their lives often end up living in a squalorous political limbo in one of these massive "temporary" encampments—like nine of the largest, below.
