Well, look who finally showed up to the patent party! The Federal Trade Commission announced on Friday that it has opened an inquiry into "patent assertion entities," a.k.a. patent trolls. Start popping some popcorn, folks. This could get good.

Its not like there haven’t been a barrage of rumors about the design and dimensions of iPad 5. There have been plenty of rumors, but today purported iPad 5 schematics, that have been provided to case makers, have appeared online and they hint at the tablet’s design and dimensions. The tablet is expected to be thinner and lighter than its predecessor and have thinner bezels. The schematics match the appearance of multiple iPad 5 components that have leaked over the past few months.

cat clothes in the world. Cat fashion is the ultimate expression of a
Japanese person’s love for his or her cat. But cat clothes aren’t just
stylish; they have their functions. In the case of these Cat Pajamas and Cat Hat, the clothing is specifically designed to keep wounds protected
while cats are healing from surgery.
The trajectory of the iPhone is, in most ways, the trajectory of Apple over the past decade. Insane ambition, untouchable dominance, the inevitable slowing of momentum. And now, reinvention, sort of. Mostly from iOS 7, partly from the iPhone 5S itself. But underneath it all, it’s still just an iPhone. And that’s still pretty good.
$35,000 Prima Cinema Player brings movies home as soon as they hit theaters (eyes-on)
Posted in: Today's ChiliReady to escape the usual crowd at the movie theater and host your own premieres at home? Prima Cinema has an answer, with the minor requirement of $35,000 (and a few other details) to get your home theater ready for first-run movies. Just as we’d heard when it first popped up a couple of years ago, that large setup fee buys the Cinema Player, a rack-mountable box loaded with a 2TB hard drive and enough DRM to keep the studios happy, plus a wired fingerprint reader used to ensure the owner’s identity. Movies download automatically to its hard drive in the background so they’re already there when the owner chooses to unlock them for viewing. That privilege costs $500 ($600 for 3D), good for one showing within 24 hours. Check after the break for more of our impressions after a quick preview at Prima’s CEDIA 2013 booth, then prep your black card for the pricey purchase.

Rumor has it that HTC currently has another “Butterfly” smartphone up its sleeve. The Butterfly branding isn’t that popular in markets other than Asia, the first device from this lineup eventually showed up in the U.S. as the Droid DNA from Verizon. This particular lineup might be about to get a bump, with HTC launching a new Butterfly device with an impressive spec list. The HTC Butterfly 2 is expected to be launched in January 2014, it is rumored to have Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quadcore processor, a 5.2 inch full HD display and it is also said to be waterproof.
Nothing else has been rumored about this device. There’s no word on battery capacity, camera storage, RAM, OS version, pricing and availability. It remains to be seen if this smartphone will remain an Asia exclusive for a long time before finally coming under a different brand name to other markets. HTC itself hasn’t said anything about a new Butterfly device, so the rumor should definitely be taken with a grain of salt. January 2014 is roughly 100 days away, so the expected release time-frame isn’t that far off. If this device is indeed coming out next year, perhaps we might continue to hear more rumors and we might possibly be treated to leaked photos as well.
