HTC has sold its final 25-percent stake in Beats Electronics, cutting remaining ties with the headphones and audio company and making a little extra cash in the process over its initial investment. Though the folks at BlackBerry decided to hold off on their regularly scheduled earnings report, the report has indeed come out – and it’s not looking good. This second fiscal quarter for the company here in 2013 showed sales of $1.6 billion, but a loss on those sales of $965 million. This loss came in […]
Nokia might have agreed in principle to sell its phone business to Microsoft, but it is working to pump out a few devices under its iconic brand name. The company has an event scheduled on October 22nd in Abu Dhabi where it is expected to unveil as many as six new devices. A Windows RT powered Nokia tablet and a Windows Phone 8 powered Nokia phablet are already expected to be announced at that event. Nokia might also be working on a low end Lumia smartphone that’s focused on music. The device may internally be known as Nokia “Glee.”
Infamous Twitter leak maestro @evleaks was first to break word about the Nokia Glee. The tweet was quoted by expanded upon by a well known journalist, who added that the Glee is actually a low end Lumia smartphone that’s music centric. Nothing else is known about this device right now, so we can’t just conjure specifications and features out of thin air. The interesting thing to note is the fact that this smartphone is supposed to be music centric. Is Nokia about to launch a new music service, or is it going to unveil something that revamps the music experience on its line of Lumia devices? Obviously there’s no saying if the company will reveal anything about it on October 22nd, but its likely that we’ll hear more rumors about this device in the near future.

Posted in: Today's ChiliInflatable buildings are definitely an interesting way of creating temporary structures, like for concerts, weddings, etc. This particular blow-up building concept has been in the works for at least a year and it looks pretty impressive.
Arata Isozaki and Anish Kapoor collaborated to make this concert hall dubbed Ark Nova. The concert hall will tour the areas of Tohoku, Japan that have been ravaged by the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami.
It takes about two hours to inflate the building, and it can hold about 500 people. It’s filled with wooden benches made from tsunami-damaged cedar trees.
Ark Nova makes its debut in Japan today. It will be interesting to see if other mobile venues like this start popping up.

Just when you had given up on trees, wooden buildings are back! Skidmore Owings & Merrill, the firm behind the Sears (aka Willis) Tower, One World Trade Center, and many other extremely tall buildings wants to make a 42-story skyscraper out of wood.
