Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Apocalypse Final DLC Arrives

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II Apocalypse Final DLC ArrivesThe last is definitely not the least, as the entire DLC adventure for Call of Duty: Black Ops II Apocalypse has arrived at its epic conclusion for both PS3 as well as PC gamers. This DLC will be the fourth and final DLC pack from the folks over at Activision and the award-winning studio Treyarch, where interested gamers (and we are sure that there will be many of them!) will be able to dig into a quartet of thrilling and diverse multiplayer maps, in addition to Origins. Origins can be best described as the all-new, wildly creative Zombies experience which will reunite players with the original heroes from Call of Duty: World at War, where this particular chapter will close the Zombies story arch for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.

Among the multiplayer maps that are available in Call of Duty: Black Ops II Apocalypse include Pod, where a “failed utopian community from the 70′s has left stacks of dilapidated residential pods nestled into an abandoned cliff side in Taiwan.” The residents are no longer there for quite some time already, and the modernist compound now plays host to frenetic combat as you and your enemies will run atop the pods while learning how to navigate the multi-tiered interiors for a strategic edge. Other map names are Frost, Takeoff, and Dig. The a la carte Call of Duty: Black Ops II Apocalypse DLC Pack will cost you $14.99 a pop, and can be downloaded by Season Pass holders.

ZTE Nubia Flagship To Come With Snapdragon 800 Chipset In November

ZTE Nubia Flagship To Come With Snapdragon 800 Chipset In NovemberZTE, one of the smartphone manufacturers from China who are now starting to make its presence felt worldwide, has mentioned that they have plans to introduce a new flagship device for the masses later this November. This particular flagship smartphone will run on the Snapdragon 800 processor, and will obviously target the high end market. If the name Nubia sounds familiar to you, that is because right now, the ZTE Nubia Z5 and Nubia Z5 Mini have been released already, so it is not surprising to see them concentrate on the Nubia name to introduce a new flagship this November at best, and early December at worst.

Not only that, it does seem that the new flagship will continue from where the Nubia Z5 left off. So far, hints of the hardware specifications of this alleged upcoming Nubia flagship device include a Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor that will in all probability be the MSM8974AB model, in addition to improvements made to the camera as well as other user interface features. Will the upcoming flagship be able to take the title of the thinnest 5” Full HD smartphone when it arrives? Perhaps, considering how its predecessor did so in the past. Pricing details obviously remain to be known.

L.A. School District Stops Free iPad Program

L.A. School District Stops Free iPad ProgramThe L.A. School District has decided to call it quits by next year for the free Apple iPad program to all 640,000 students within the district. What is the reason behind this move that theoretically speaking, would ultimately help students out and hopefully make them learn in a more efficient manner? It seems that some of the students who attend the Theodore Roosevelt High School had already hacked their iPad in just a week, which allows them to surf the Internet. This was deemed to be a security concern by the relevant parties so much so that the L.A. School District has decided to take the step to halt the program.

Originally, this deal by Apple with the educators included the supply of 35,000 iPads, and the rest of the students who were part of the program were supposed to receive their tablet in 2014. It does seem that the $1 billion program is now on shaky ground after students at Roosevelt realized that they could disable security restrictions on the iPad by deleting their personal profile, and this enabled them to visit blocked sites – where among them include the likes of Twitter and Facebook.

L.A. Unified School District Police Chief Steven Zipperman mentioned that there is no better time than now to stop the program before the word continues to spread on social media sites as to how to get around the security of the school issued iPads.

Google Glass XE10 Update Touted To Offer 3rd Party Glassware Apps

Google Glass XE10 Update Touted To Offer 3rd Party Glassware AppsTo date, it has been rather challenging for third party developers to roll out apps for Google Glass, but it seems that things are set to change with the introduction of the upcoming Google Glass XE10 update. This particular Google Glass XE10 update will offer code jockeys the necessary tools required for a third party developer to begin writing third party Glassware apps for the Google Glass platform. With this update, developers would have the doors opened up to them so that they can access the sensors as well as features on Google Glass.

If you are a developer yourself, you can certainly look forward to the update’s rollout sometime next month, where it should also pave the way for more interesting games in addition to more functional apps. There is still some feeling of consternation among certain quarters as to whether Google Glass is able to make a huge splash when it finally arrives, but I guess everyone will just have to wait for 2014 to come around before a more concrete view on the situation can be assessed, right? Not only that, the introduction of the Google Glass XE10 update will most probably make sure that more than an adequate number of apps will be available by the time the pair of smart glasses arrive.

Man finds his dead grandmother on Google Street View

An image of a now-deceased grandmother captured on Street View and discovered by grandson.

“There she was, sitting on her porch, reading her newspapers.”

That’s what surprised Dustin Moore of Beaverton, Ore. It wasn’t that his Grandma Alice didn’t like to read newspapers. It’s that she’s dead.

And it seemed that Google Street View had captured one of the last images of her alive.

As Moore explained to KATU-TV, Moore was idly viewing Street View when he came across his grandmother. She was just hanging out.

FAA Advisory Panel Says We Should Be Allowed to Use Electronic Devices

As expected, the FAA advisory committee has recommended that airline passengers should be "allowed to use smartphones, tablets, e-readers and other personal electronic devices during takeoffs and landings". That means, yes, we can finally use our damn (innocent) electronic devices while on an airplane without looking like a criminal.

LG’s cheapest Ultra HDTV starts at $3,500, OLED TV drops to $10,000

LG's Ultra HDTV lineup reaches five models, starting at $3,500 OLED TV drops to $10k

LG had its own Ultra HD news to reveal here at CEDIA 2013, and first up are two new edge LED lit LCD TVs joining the family. The cheaper models the company announced in Korea last month are coming to the US this month, with the 65-inch LA9650 (shown above) rocking a $5,000 price tag, and the 55-inch coming home for just $3,500 — even less than we’d expected. Coming along with the new TVs is an LG “Sound Plate” it first showed off at IFA (pictured after the break). There’s no price or release date yet, but expect it to hit in Q4. Beyond the new TVs, LG is also slashing prices on its existing lineup, with the higher end LA9700 models in the same sizes dropping to $6,500 and $4,500. Concerned about needing HDMI 2.0 in the future? We don’t have firm answers yet, but LG says it’s working on a solution for existing models. Even its 55-inch curved OLED TV is getting a price break, dropping down to $10,000 at retail from its previous launch price of $14,000.
