Apple Doesnt Want Developers Using Gold iPhone 5s In Marketing Materials

Developers rushed to updated and optimize their apps for iOS 7 and the iPhone 5s when they were released last month, though its quite interesting to see that none of the promotional materials for newly updated apps show the gold iPhone 5s, despite the fact that it was probably one of the most highly anticipated color offerings Apple was expected to announce. It seems that Apple doesn’t want developers to use the gold iPhone 5s in their promotional materials, instead opting to highlight the new color on its own.

Developers are provided product images with blank display areas where they can paste screenshots of their apps through Apple’s App Store Marketing Guidelines page. Images are of the most current products, and only a few color options are provided. The iPhone 5s, iPad Air and iPad mini are limited to space gray and silver. iPhone 5c to blue and white, and the iPod touch 5G to blue and space gray. Developers opting for custom photography or video are given strict rules to follow, the can only use the most current products in only the color options mentioned above, evidently no gold iPhone 5s. On the other hand, Apple has been extensively using gold iPhone 5s in its print and TV ads, so it really does seem that the company doesn’t want anyone else to use its latest color offering for marketing purposes.

    Nexus 5 Officially Announced, Available “Today”Google has just announced the Nexus 5 (official page) without fanfare on its website. The Nexus 5 is a highly anticipated handset which is mostlybased on the excellent LG G2 hardware. As usual, the new Nexus phone is going to represent the latest “pure Android” experience and it will come with Android 4.4, code-named KitKat. The official details are just starting to surface, but we know that unlike past Nexus smartphones, this one is going to support LTE and will be available with Sprint and T-Mobile in the USA.     More Details About Verizon Ellipsis 7 Tablet Emerge

    Earlier today we picked up on a leaked press render of a 7 inch tablet that Verizon is expected to announce soon, called the Ellipsis 7. More details have emerged about this device today, courtesy of a internal handout that was reportedly given to certain Verizon employees today. Apparently Ellipsis is a new brand of budget oriented devices that Verizon is going to launch come November 7th, with Ellipsis 7 being the first device in this new brand.

    The tablet is said to have a 7 inch IPS display with “HD” resolution, presumably 1,280×800. A 1.2GHz quadcore processor is said to be under the hood, model and manufacturer not known at this point in time. The render itself points towards the possibility of a front facing camera, but it can’t be said for sure if there’s one on the back as well. Internal storage is rumored to be 8GB with the option to expand through microSD cards. The Ellipsis 7 is said to have a 4,000mAh battery, which should be enough to power its 4G LTE radio, making it compatible with Verizon’s 4G LTE network in the country. Off contract, the Verizon Ellipsis 7 is believed to cost $249.99. The carrier is said to offer a $100 discount to those who sign a two year contract. Its imperative to keep in mind that none of the information provided here, taken from the leaked handout, has been officially confirmed by Verizon, so there’s no point in forming a notion about Verizon’s budget oriented tablet just yet.
