Forza Motorsport 5 Paddock Edition Will Have Limited 3,000 Copy Run

Forza Motorsport 5 Paddock Edition Will Have Limited 3,000 Copy RunHave you ever attended any of the Formula 1 races that are held in different cities across the world each year? The excitement of it all, and the insane noise from the engines as they blare, are all part of the experience. Of course, the sport has become somewhat boring these days, just like it was in the Schumacher era when Michael kept on winning, as Sebastian Vettel cranks out victory after victory. Surely you would also love driving games, and we have word that you might have to be quick out of the docks when it comes to the Forza Motorsport 5 Paddock Edition as there will only be 3,000 copies released.

This seems to be a special limited edition from Microsoft, especially when you consider that it is only available to ship to Canada and the US. Just what will the Forza Motorsport 5 Paddock Edition feature? For starters, it will arrive with a hoodie, stainless steel water bottle, set of four stem caps, a keychain, a pair of branded Spy Optics sunglasses – all of that in addition to the game of course, a special packaging that ought to make you drool over, and a bunch of additional DLC. The Forza Motorsport 5 Paddock Edition can be pre-ordered for $120 a pop.

Lenovo Takes a Jab at the MacBook Air

This article was written on April 30, 2008 by CyberNet.

They say good things come in small packages and Lenovo is out to prove that at Apple’s expense. Back in March we wrote about how Lenovo was going head-to-head with Apple’s MacBook Air with their ThinkPad X300. Now they’ve come up with a rather funny parody that makes fun of some of the MacBook Air’s limitations. Lenovo really did a good job with it, take a look:

And of course you have to love the response from the Fake Steve Jobs:

Our intelligence operatives in China came across this video which apparently is making the rounds among contract manufacturers and component suppliers. No idea where it came from but it looks like a case of Lenovo trying to coast on our momentum and pretend they’re as cool as we are when it comes to design. Whatevs. MacBook Air is still the kewlest lapotop on the market.

Comcast bundle ties HBO, local TV and internet together for just $40 per month, at first

If your ideal TV setup is HBO Go by itself, one option for a setup close to that is being offered by a seemingly unlikely source: Comcast. The “Internet Plus” promo dug up by DSLReports and GigaOm is the closest thing we’ve seen so far, promising a limited basic channel lineup (varies by area), but …

iPad Air gets thumbs-down from Woz

Steve Wozniak has been vocal about the new iPad Air, and while he wasn’t critical of the device in general, he did say that it isn’t a slate that is applicable to him. He went on to explain why, and in doing so revealed the perhaps more surprising detail about his home Internet, namely that […]

The Weirdest Thing on the Internet: Orson Welles vs. Frozen Peas

Legendary Hollywood director Orson Welles was not a man to be trifled with and had no qualms in voicing his displeasure when a creative process failed to meet his expectations. So when he was handed a poorly-worded ad script for frozen peas, Welles let loose in one of the most impressive tirades ever caught on tape.

    Google Tests Top Banner Ads

Google Tests Top Banner AdsIf you are a frequent visitor to the World Wide Web, have you noticed that in Google search, there has been select web searches that seem to feature rather large and unfamiliar banner ads whenever the results page is served? Google has recently confirmed that they are currently testing out such ads with a tiny percentage of its user base. According to a Google spokesperson, it has been deemed as “a small experiment.” For instance, what you see above was a screenshot of one of the brands being advertised, as tweeted by @SynrgyHQ, who later learned from Google that around 30 brands have already signed up to be a part of this advertising test.

So far, it seems that the percentage of users who have come across such ads happens to stand at under 5%. Not only that, such ads will only show up whenever you are looking for something that is specifically relevant to the brand, as you see above. If one were to rewind the clock by 8 years or so, we do remember that Google promised that such a situation will never happen. Marissa Mayer even wrote in 2005, “There will be no banner ads on the Google homepage or web search results pages. There will not be crazy, flashy, graphical doodads flying and popping up all over the Google site. Ever.”

Call of Duty: Ghosts Official PC System Requirements Revealed

Call of Duty: Ghosts Official PC System Requirements RevealedAll right, so we have already seen the official Call of Duty: Ghosts gameplay trailer at the beginning of this week. Having whet our appetite, we now have additional and crucial information for those who might be thinking about getting Call of Duty: Ghosts up and running on their computers. The official PC system requirements have been revealed, and as you go through the list below, perhaps it is time for an upgrade assuming your desktop has not been chugging along as fast as you would have liked.

Activision and Infinity Ward have made available the game’s official PC specifications, so here we go. You can run it on either Windows 7 64-Bit or Windows 8 64-Bit, with at least an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 2.66 GHZ / AMD Phenom X3 8750 2.4 GHZ or better processor, have a minimum of 6GB RAM, 40GB of hard drive space, NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 / ATI Radeon HD 5870 or better, a DirectX compatible sound card, and DirectX 11 in tow. You will also need a broadband Internet connection for Steam and Online Multiplayer.

Bear in mind that these are just the minimum required to run the game, and from experience, you will certainly need a few steps higher than that to play Call of Duty: Ghosts, in all of its glory as Activision and Infinity Ward intended it to be.

Minecraft 1.7.1 Update To Release Tomorrow

Minecraft 1.7.1 Update To Release TomorrowEvery decent game needs an update once in a while as long as it remains popular among gamers, as updates would bring about more stability, bug fixes, as well as the possibility of prolonging the life of the game. Well, Minecraft has been pretty big for quite some time now, and tomorrow, we will see the release of what has been dubbed to be an “update that changed the world”. I guess you might want to get some sleep tonight before October 25th rolls around, since whether you have enough shuteye or not, the update will still be rolling out, so you might as well do so.

The Minecraft 1.7.1 update has been specially described by developer Jeb to be “The Update that Changed the World.” The whole reason behind that dramatic sounding title has been attributed to the fact that the patch’s main change would affect how worlds are generated. While world generation will remain as the main focus of the patch, there will be additional content thrown into the mix too, including a ton of new blocks, additions to Fishing, and changes to maps, while meta changes dealing with achievements, multiplayer, resource packs and chat are also part of the deal. Of course, don’t forget that there will be plenty of bug fixes making their way, too!

AMBER Robot Gets Feet The Little Mermaid Would’ve Envied

Remember how that in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, Princess Ariel decided to trade in her voice for a pair of feet so that she will be able to be on land with the prince who caught her heart? Well, she certainly had the help of Ursula the sea witch in getting her wish, which was a fair deal (albeit a bit naive on her side), but back to the real world, there are no incantations that will be able to give anyone a new pair of feet, but technology certainly could do something about it. Case in point, the AMBER robot from Texas A&M’s Amber Lab robotics team.

Apparently, there has been an approximation of those foot bones which allows the robo-Manziel to have the pivot-points required for a more natural movement that is as close as it gets to human movement at this point in time. The final product will not have anything to do with making synthetic legs stronger, and at the end of the video when you saw the legs stumble? That was done on purpose, to show that the attached boom offered lateral stability. What kind of strides would you like to see the robotics industry make in the near future?
