Southwest Ranks Top 10 In Keeping It Simple

Southwest Airlines is one of the top 10 simplest US companies, according to an index Tuesday yesterday by Siegel+Gale, a brand strategy firm in New York.

Of the advantages, says Howard Belk, co-CEO and chief creative officer of Siegel+Gale, “consumers would pay more for simplicity… brands are leaving significant money on the table because of complexity.” Southwest climbed 6 spots from last year, now ranking at #9 out of 125 U.S. companies.

Following Southwest, JetBlue is the next airline on the list at #44. Bigger airlines like US Airways, America, United placed in the bottom 20; and Delta fell 17 spots to the bottom 10, ranking at #166 for poor customer service and extra hidden fees.

The Loog Crowdfunded Kids’ Guitar Goes Electric

“Judas!” cried someone from the carpeted, block-strewn floor. Mrs. Felton, the third grade teacher, looked at the kids with contempt.

“I don’t believe you!” she yelled.

Felton turned to her band – Alicia, Timmy, and little Sheldon Cho – and strummed her $150 electric Loog guitar forcefully, stalking across the room like a lion enraged.

“You’re a liar,” she screamed. Another strum along the Loog’s three strings. She played open chords because they were easier for the kids to learn. Sheldon was playing his blue electric Loog and Timmy was on the mini-xylophone. Alicia was warming up her recorder.

“Play it totally super loud!” she yelled, nearly cursing.

    “Please!” she added.

    She began to sing:

    A-tisket a-tasket
    A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it.

The crowd went wild. Mrs. Felton had finally gone electric, bringing rock and roll to the benighted halls of PS 103 in the Bronx. Although arguments raged for years over the true value of electric guitars in grade-school rock, one thing was clear: the new electric Loogs – a mere two years after the launch of the first, acoustic Loog guitars for kids – were an absolute hit. A new, easy-to-learn, child-centric guitar sound was born and grade school would never be the same.

Resident Evil Creator Thinks Both The Xbox One And PS4 Are “Almost Identical”

Resident Evil Creator Thinks Both The Xbox One And PS4 Are Almost IdenticalWhen it comes to debate about next-gen consoles, it’s a bit sad that Nintendo’s Wii U is often left out of the mix, but in any case as it stands, the debate is whether one should go for Microsoft’s Xbox One, or the Sony PlayStation 4. Ultimately it boils down to personal preference and also which exclusive titles you would rather have, but if you’re looking to compare consoles based purely on hardware specs, you probably shouldn’t bother, at least that’s what Resident Evil’s creator, Shinji Mikami, seems to suggest in an interview he had with Edge magazine.

According to Mikami, he believes that we only really need one console, especially since the hardware specs of both consoles are almost identical. “We only need one console […] Why do I have to make two versions of a game? And when Xbox One was first announced, it had lower specs than PS4, but now they’re almost identical. So either will do.” Like we said earlier it really just boils down to personal preference, the services provided by either platform, the comfort, the titles available, and etc., so there’s really no scientific way of choosing either device, but what do you guys think of Mikami’s comments? Do we really just need one console at the end of the day?

Massachusetts Town Mourns After Philip Chism Charged In Teacher Colleen Ritzer’s Death

DANVERS, Mass. — DANVERS, Mass. (AP) — She had a bright smile, a preference for pink, and an admitted overenthusiasm for the subjects she taught. The lanky boy was just a decade younger, new to the school, with a pleasant manner but little to say.

Sometime on their last day at the school together Tuesday, prosecutors say, teacher Colleen Ritzer and 14-year-old student Philip Chism crossed paths, and he killed her.
