Nokia Lumia 2520 Will Be Coming To AT&T And Verizon

Nokia Lumia 2520 Will Be Coming To AT&T And VerizonJust yesterday Nokia took the wraps off their tablet, the Nokia Lumia 2520 and for those living in the US and were thinking of picking up the device, you might be interested to learn that the 4G LTE version of the Lumia 2520 will be offered by both AT&T and Verizon, with no mention as to whether T-Mobile or Sprint plans to stock the device as of now, although we guess the good news is that at least the tablet will not be an AT&T exclusive, unlike the Nokia Lumia 1520. Unfortunately there was no word on pricing or availability regarding the tablet on either carrier, but presumably more will be revealed in the near future once both carriers gear up to launch the device.

Nokia’s tablet efforts have resulted in a 10.1” Full HD 1080p display with Gorilla Glass 2. It will be powered by a 2.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, an 8,000mAh battery which should provide it with decent battery life, a 6.7MP ZEISS camera on the back, a 2MP in the front, 4G LTE connectivity (of course), and will run on Windows RT 8.1. It was an interesting choice by Nokia to launch the Lumia 2520, especially since Microsoft would be acquiring the company, with the Redmond company already having a Windows RT tablet in their portfolio in the form of the Surface 2, but it will be interesting to see if Nokia’s efforts will yield better results.

Sprint’s HTC 8XT Receiving Windows Phone GDR3 Update

Sprints HTC 8XT Receiving Windows Phone GDR3 Update8xWhile Sprint might have been late to the Windows Phone game with their HTC 8XT which was launched a few months ago, it seems that they are wasting no time when it comes to software updates for the device and have since started to push out the Windows Phone Update 3 to the HTC 8XT, at least that’s what the reports are saying and that’s what Sprint’s Support Site for the HTC 8XT has revealed as well. This is a pleasant surprise as the Windows Phone Update 3, for those unfamiliar, is also known as the GDR3 update which basically brings about several improvements to Windows Phone devices, such as Full HD 1080p screen support as well as quad-core processors.

The update won’t magically transform your HTC 8XT into a faster and larger device, but it will include improvements to it, such as streaming audio improvements, accessibility improvements, as well as other improvements brought about by the GDR3 update. If you haven’t been notified of the update just yet, fret not as we expect that the update will most likely be released in stages so as not to overload their servers, so if you don’t see it yet, you most probably will in the next few days. So, any HTC 8XT owners pleasantly surprised by this recent update?

BBM For iOS And Android Hits 10 Million Mark In 24 Hours

BBM For iOS And Android Hits 10 Million Mark In 24 HoursJust yesterday BlackBerry revealed that BBM for iOS and Android had been downloaded about 5 million times in a matter of hours since it was re-released to the public. Well it looks like in 24 hours, BlackBerry has managed to double that amount as BlackBerry has recently announced that the app had managed to see 10 million downloads to date. Of course this hardly means that there are 10 million iOS and Android users out there sending each other text messages via BBM, but rather it’s merely an indication of how many times the app has been downloaded.

As it stands there is a queue if you wish to use BBM for iOS and Android. This was put in place by BlackBerry to prevent their servers from overloading and users who wish to use the app will have to sign up and be placed in a queue, whereby BlackBerry will notify users when they are able to proceed with the registration for the app. There’s no word on how long users will have to queue for and it could be hours, days, or maybe even weeks until your turn is reached, so you should probably signup with your email address ASAP, even if you don’t plan on using the app anytime soon. Any of our readers manage to start using the app yet?
