Earlier this month, it was tipped that the LG G Flex curved smartphone will be appearing next month, and a short while later some renders of the handset appeared, showing a gently curved phone that could cradle one’s face. As it turns out, that render was accurate, with photographs of the actual handset appearing today […]
So, we do know that the iPad mini will now feature a Retina display, something that folks have been on the lookout for for quite some time already. Assuming you are one of those who always want something that is better out there, how about these 4K tablet displays from Japan Display? Panasonic has already managed to incorporate this into their 20” behemoths with a similar resolution, but how about something that is easier for you to hold in your hands? Japan Display actually comprises of Sony, Toshiba, and Hitachi, where they have recently announced that they have managed to squeeze in 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160) into a 12.1-inch TFT module, resulting in a display that has a 365 pixels per inch count.
First unveiled to those who have attended the FPD International 2013 exhibition in Japan earlier this week, this particular new screen module will not guzzle down battery power like nobody’s business. No sir, it will in fact, remain power-efficient and arrive in an expected thin form factor to boot, which might make it the ideal business complement to the company’s upcoming White Magic 1080p smartphone screens. In what ways do you think that these 4k tablet displays will be able to change the tablet landscape in the future?

Fans of video games will most probably know just how popular the Mario franchise is to Nintendo, as it is an integral part of the company. Well, we have seen our fair share of Mario titles over the years, and they have the tendency to ride out as winners in their very own right. Thanks to advancements in technology that allow us to view stuff like trailers, we now bring you the latest Super Mario 3D World trailer that interestingly enough, does seem to feature its fair share of cat costumes.
The trailer itself will be in Japanese entirely, where it depicts just how some four-player gameplay action will be like on debut Wii U Mario title. In this particular trailer, it also depicts each character’s special moves in addition to being all decked out in cat costumes. When it comes to Mario, his special ability does seem to be his famous bounce attack, while Luigi boasts of the ability to jump extra high, with Princess Peach floating around, while Toad, the smallest member of the group, is able to dash about. Considering they are all wearing cat costumes, all of them will be able to perform claw and slide attacks in addition to climb vertical surfaces.
There are also other transformations that would make up part of the game, where among them include Double Mario, Giant Mario, various boxes, in addition to favourites such as Fire Mario and Tanooki Mario. Expect Super Mario 3D Land to arrive in North America on November 22 in Europe on November 29.

Here’s a little more Friday Fun for you. Below you’ll find an image of a moving dancer. Is she moving clockwise or counter-clockwise? Depending on how your brain works, you will see it differently. If she’s moving clockwise, you’re using your right brain and if she’s moving counter-clockwise, you are using your left brain. Some of you will be able to see her moving in both directions.
When I was first glancing at the image, she was moving clockwise. But then I looked away for a minute and refocused on the picture and she was moving counter-clockwise. After that I could change my focus and see her moving in either direction. For Ryan, he could only see her moving clockwise. According to the Herald Sun in Australia, most of you will see her moving counter-clockwise. So what does all of this mean?
- Left Brain Functions (counter-clockwise): uses logic, detail oriented, math and science, reality based, practical, forms strategies
- Right Brain Functions (clockwise): big picture oriented, symbols and images, spatial perception, risk taking, impetuous
If you can only see her moving in one direction, try to close one of your eyes which should trigger your brain to think with the other side. If covering one eye doesn’t work, switch and try the other. I also noticed that I tended to see her “switch” directions depending on whether or not I was looking at her head or her feet.

When it comes to fashion, you know for sure that strides in this department cannot be made if no one is bold enough to experiment with new ideas. This time around, here is something that even the master of magnetism, Magneto himself, would approve. As part of Dutch Design Week, artist Jólan Van der Wiel alongside designer Iris Van Herpen have worked on a couple of dresses which were specially designed more by magnetism rather than the product of their own hands.
Why do we say this? Well, Van der Wiel has chalked up quite a history when it comes to featuring magnetism in his work. To make sure that his creations will be forged in a unique manner, he came up with something he dubbed “the gravity tool,” which would seem like an old torture device. In a nutshell, it is a housing for a bunch of magnets, and whenever a composite of iron filings and molten plastic is loaded into the gravity tool, Van der Wiel will be able to manipulate the material as it hardens. Hence, you get something like the dress that you see above. Will opposites be able to attract if your date decides to wear something as outrageous as this?

Well, here we are with word that The Sims 4, a game that was originally scheduled for a first quarter of 2014 release, has been postponed. However, not all in the situation is doom and gloom. We also know that The Sims 4’s delay will not be too long, as it is set to ship worldwide in autumn next year, as announced by EA and Maxis.
As mentioned earlier, EA did have previous plans to roll out the game in the first quarter of 2014, but they have not given a reason for this particular delay. Those millions of voices will fuel our development process, helping The Sims 4 to be the most ambitious and the best game our studio has ever made. We can’t wait to see our fans reaction when The Sims 4 comes out in fall 2014.”
