Logitech Mobile Speakerphone P710e UnveiledLogitech, a company that deals with computer peripherals most of the time, has just announced a spanking new speakerphone which you might want to bring along with you wherever you go – in the form of the Logitech Mobile Speakerphone P710e, of course. This is one compact device that will offer plenty of “bite” on paper, where it is said to deliver enterprise-quality audio for the most life-like conversations. The internal battery is able to last for up to 15 hours on a single charge, and it enables individuals or small groups to easily set up an instant conference room regardless of where they are, using compatible devices such as a computer, Mac, tablet or smartphone.

Will productivity and communication improve then? One can only hope. [Press Release]

BBM For iOS Rises To Number 2 Position On iTunes

BBM For iOS Rises To Number 2 Position On iTunesAfter what seemed like forever, BBM for iOS and Android has begun its rollout into the eager hands of iOS and Android users. In fact the app was released less than 24 hours ago but it seems that BBM for iOS has managed to climb its way up to the number 2 spot on the most popular apps in the US iTunes App Store’s Free category! Given BBM’s popularity and the number of iOS users out there who are either curious or eager to check out the app, this isn’t too surprising, and we have to wonder if given a few more hours or days, if it will be able to hit the number 1 position and maintain it.

With such popularity we can only imagine how many people have downloaded the app since its re-release, although as it stands BlackBerry has yet to reveal those numbers but we expect the Canadian company will be eager to boast those figures as soon as possible. While we have yet to get our hands on the messaging app, so far there has not been any reports of any major issues popping up, so presumably BlackBerry did a great job of patching up whatever problems that plagued the app the last time. For those who are about to download the app, you should note that there is a waiting list to help stagger the signups and prevent server overloads, but there is a workaround to that queue for those who are too impatient.

The Student-Inspired PSA That Should Be Shown At Every School: ‘It’s All About Respect’

A handful of teens of different ethnicities and backgrounds from a Minnesota high school have a powerful message for their classmates: “It’s all about respect.”

Watch their PSA, above, where they explain what it feels like to be a minority student at a mostly-white high school.

“Sometimes we want to have a laugh that doesn’t always focus on our race, our ethnicity, or the way we look,” the students say in the video. “Sometimes there’s a pressure to go along with it, to appear to be cool with it, to fit in.”

BBM Signup Queue Workaround For iOS And Android Discovered

BBM Signup Queue Workaround For iOS And Android DiscoveredIt was only a few hours ago that BBM for iOS and Android was finally released to the masses, although given the apps popularity and to prevent server overloads, BlackBerry has staggered the release of the app meaning that while you can download the app straightaway, you will need to enter your email address and wait in line until it’s your turn to “activate” the app. However it turns out that there might be a workaround to that problem as discovered by CNET, so if you absolutely have to use the app right now, you can go ahead and try CNET’s solution to see if it works out for you.

According to CNET, “Open the app, enter your email address, click Next, and then force close it. This can be done on iOS by double-clicking the home button and swiping the app away. On Android, enter the multitasking menu and swipe the app away, or go to Settings, Apps, BBM, and click Force Close. After relaunching the app you should have the ability to create an account, which will assign you a unique pin, and begin inviting friends.” We have not tried this out for ourselves so we can’t say that it works, but if you don’t feel like waiting, give it a try and let us know in the comments below as to whether it worked out!

Limited Edition Ricoh GR Camera Revealed

Limited Edition Ricoh GR Camera RevealedCameras are typically released in rather boring finishes and are usually of the black variety, but then again we guess photographers might be more interested in how it performs rather than how it looks, right? However if you fancy yourself a bit of a fashionista and would like your camera to look as good as you, you’re in luck as Ricoh as recently announced a limited edition GR camera that may or may not be right up your alley. As expected with most, if not all, special/limited edition camera releases, the hardware under the hood will remain the same, with the main difference being its look.

In the case of the GR camera, Ricoh has given it a new color, a “stylish” green, wave-patterned body, with a silver shutter button and ring cap. It will also get a redesigned camera grip which is now in black and will come with a glossy, wood-grain finish. The lens ring of the camera will be diamond-engraved with the GR product name, and the entire package will come with exclusive accessories that include a lens hood and adapter, and a brown, genuine leather case and strap. This limited edition Ricoh GR camera will be made available mid-November 2013 for the UK and will be priced at £699.99 and will be limited to 5,000 units worldwide.

CryptoSeal Privacy VPN service nuked to avoid NSA hassle

In early August, Silent Circle shutdown its encrypted email service, having been spooked by the government-spurred Lavabit closure in late summer. Now another service is following suit, with CryptoSeal announcing that its Privacy VPN service has been completely shuttered due to concerns about government mandates and privacy violations. The specific cause of the shutdown involves […]

‘Almost Human’ Premiere Date Changed To November 17

Fox has changed the premiere date for the Karl Urban sci-fi series “Almost Human” less than a month before the show was scheduled to debut. The futuristic cop series will now premiere on Sunday, Nov. 17 at approximately 8 p.m. ET following an “NFL on Fox” double-header, with the second episode premiering Monday, Nov. 18 in its regular timeslot of 8 p.m. ET, before a new episode of “Sleepy Hollow.”

“Almost Human” was originally supposed to debut at 8 p.m. ET on Nov. 4, but Fox apparently wanted to capitalize on the football lead-in for the J.J. Abrams and J.H. Wyman-produced series, telling EW: “There’s a football double-header that Sunday afternoon that could serve up a huge lead-in to sample the new show.”

Following the conclusion of Fox’s baseball coverage, “Bones” will continue to air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET with new episodes on Nov. 4 and Nov. 11, before shifting to its new Friday timeslot on Nov. 15 at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the Season 4 premiere of “Raising Hope,” which will debut with back-to-back episodes from 9 p.m. ET.

BlackBerry Releases BBM How To Videos For iOS And Android

All right, so the big news for this evening when it comes to BlackBerry is not that the company has found a suitable suitor to take over, but rather, that BBM for iOS as well as BBM for Android are now available. Have you already downloaded BBM onto your handset? For those who do not have the time to figure things out on your own, how about a “How To” video to get things going? This is exactly what the video above depicts, where it will offer step-by-step instructions on how to set-up and create a group, in addition to knowing just when a message you have sent has been read, apart from how to set up a multi-person chat, how to set up a contacts list using PINs and how to share pictures, amongst others.

Both BBM for iOS and BBM for Android have been delayed for approximately a month, and they are now listed in their respective app stores, which brings another adage to mind – better late than never! Not only that, BlackBerry also figured out that one would appreciate a way to receive the app by heading over to BBM.com using the browser on your handset, and to wait in line after leaving your email address, although there has been a way to skip it.

Arcade Fire’s ‘Afterlife’ Lyric Video Acts As Film Studies Course Too

Arcade Fire went deep for its lyric video to “Afterlife,” the group’s latest single from “Reflektor”: The band dusted off their Criterion Collection copy of Marcel Camus’ “Black Orpheus” and added the song’s lyrics to its memorable images. (For those who don’t remember watching “Black Orpheus” in high school or college, the synopsis from IMDb: “A retelling of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth, set during the time of the Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro.”) This isn’t the first time fans are hearing “Afterlife” — Arcade Fire performed the song during the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live” — but it’s still pretty great to experience the song in this light. Listen below; “Reflektor” is out on Oct. 29.
