Bevii officially launched on Oct. 14, and was announced in an email on Oct. 15 intended to reach the the UNC-Chapel Hill campus community, posing as an AlertCarolina emergency notification email:

DETROIT — DETROIT (AP) — Jim Leyland announced Monday he is stepping down as manager of the Detroit Tigers after eight seasons that included three division titles and two trips to the World Series.
Leyland announced his departure two days after the Tigers were eliminated from the AL championship series by Boston in six games.

This is where the UBR-1 comes in, where it would arrive as a one-armed orange humanoid that will be able to play a role in your life – assuming you lead a lifestyle that would accommodate its presence. The UBR-1 would arrive with a visual interface that is called MoveIt! so that it can direct its motions. This might very well be one of the most sophisticated robots that someone with relatively little robotics training is able to operate. MoveIt! comes in the form of an app that will feature a drag-and-drop interface, where it will interact with a robot’s sensors. With the help of that sensor data, MoveIt! will be able to provide the user with a 3D model of the robot in its actual physical environment, allowing the user to test out and direct a robot’s movements in a virtual environment prior to making them happen in real time.

Arsenio Hall says he’s an “infotainment guy.” His late-night stand-up routine, which pokes fun at the day’s headlines, is a big part of “The Arsenio Hall Show” –- both now and when his show originally came on the air in 1989.
More than 20 years ago, Hall and Oprah had a reported feud over one of Hall’s jokes. During his appearance on “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” the two clear up exactly what happened.
Hall says he once made a joke about the 1988 episode of “The Oprah Winfrey Show” when Oprah wheeled a wagon filled with 67 pounds of animal fat onstage to show how much weight she had lost.

In a groundbreaking move for the marriage equality movement, Newark Mayor Cory Booker began officiating same-sex marriages at City Hall at 12:01 a.m. this morning.
However, not everybody was celebrating.
In the midst of the ceremony for the first gay couple, Booker noted that he must “do this by law” and asks if there is anyone present that objects to the union of the two men. In response, a heckler jumped up and began shouting, “This is unlawful in the eyes of God!”
