BASAVILBASO, Argentina (AP) — Argentine farmworker Fabian Tomasi was never trained to handle pesticides. His job was to keep the crop-dusters flying by filling their tanks as quickly as possible, although it often meant getting drenched in poison.
Now, at 47, he’s a living skeleton, so weak he can hardly leave his house in Entre Rios province.
Schoolteacher Andrea Druetta lives in Santa Fe Province, the heart of Argentina’s soy country, where agrochemical spraying is banned within 500 meters (550 yards) of populated areas. But soy is planted just 30 meters (33 yards) from her back door. Her boys were showered in chemicals recently while swimming in the backyard pool.

Word about Lenovo working on an Android powered laptop broke out a couple of weeks back. The company didn’t confirm its existence until last week, when it revealed that it really does have an Android laptop up its sleeve. Lenovo A10 has now been launched, the company’s new 10.1 inch laptop that’s running Google’s mobile operating system, version 4.2 to be precise.

You can buy an unofficial life-sized replica of the treasure chests from The Legend of Zelda. It turns out there’s also an official replica of said treasure chest, except it fits in the palm of your hand. The musical treasure chest will be included in the collector’s edition of the upcoming Nintendo 3DS game The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.
The treasure chest can store up to five 3DS cartridges.
It emits the classic melodic fanfare when you open it, as demonstrated by The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma and Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in the Vine video below (be sure to turn on the sound)…
I’m not sure if the collector’s edition will be released globally, but it’s available for pre-order in the UK via Game, in Spain via Game as well and in Australia via EBGames. Aside from the chest, the limited edition bundle will also come with a poster and a Nintendo eShop download code for the Game Boy classic The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

“As far as the Affordable Care Act, as I call it, the fact is, that yes what has happened is unacceptable in terms of the glitches,” Pelosi said on ABC’s “This Week.” “This has to be fixed, but what doesn’t have to be fixed is the fact that tens of millions of more people will have access to affordable, quality health care. Carrier branded HTC One units in the U.S. have finally begun receiving the Android 4.3 update. Customers were dutifully updated about the roll out process by HTC Americas president Jason Mackenzie. It was he who revealed that Android 4.3 roll out for carrier branded devices would miss its previously scheduled release date at the end of last month, and it was he who broke world that Sprint HTC One owners were the first ones to receive this update. AT&T subscribers were the second in line to receive the update on their devices. Mackenzie has now revealed via Twitter that T-Mobile HTC One Android 4.3 update will finally begin rolling out on Monday, October 21st.
A few days back Mackenzie had said that T-Mobile customers should expected the update to reach them within a couple of days, but apparently the roll out hit a snag, which caused it to be pushed back to October 21st. Mackenzie replied to a query on Twitter, saying that the update has been held until Monday due to an unexpected delay. That’s not too bad though, the release has only been set back by a few days. Barring any unexpected snags, the update should begin to be rolled out to T-Mobile HTC One users tomorrow.

JERUSALEM — JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel’s prime minister on Sunday urged the international community to step up the pressure on Iran, despite some optimism following the latest round of nuclear talks with the Islamic Republic.
It was Benjamin Netanyahu’s first public statement on last week’s round of talks between Iran and global powers over its suspect nuclear program. Negotiators ended the talks on an upbeat note, though they gave no details on what proposals were exchanged.
