Samsung has just announced its Smart Media Player, a Roku or Apple TV alternative that runs the company’s Smart TV interface to provide all the streaming you need. Sadly, though, it seems to have priced itself outta the market.
Things just keep getting more complicated on “The Vampire Diaires.” First Stefan wasn’t Stefan because he was really Silas. In fact, Stefan learned that he is a doppelganger for Silas. Then, Stefan managed to escape from his watery grave, but he wound up captured by a vengeful witch.
At least in that scene we got a ton of information and backstory. We learned that Silas was the original doppelganger that gave us Stefan, while his lover Imara was the original doppelganger that begat both Katherine and Elena. And it’s all because this crazy witch created an immortality elixir, thinking it was for her and Silas. When he drank it with his true love, Imara, nature “fixed” it by creating these doppelgangers that could die. A little wonky, but it fits. Oh, and these doppelgangers are fated to meet and fall in love, which isn’t good news for Damon.
By the end of the hour, though, Damon and Elena had managed to rescue Stefan and get him back home, but he awoke with yet another wrinkle. He has no idea who they are.

Congratulations to Peter Y. of Honolulu for winning a Penclic Bluetooth Mouse B2 in last week’s giveaway, and to Billy D. of Cranston, R.I., for winning a copy of Nuance Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 12 speech recognition software the week before that. Guess what time it is. Time for another free TV!
This week, we’re giving away a 40-inch LCD HDTV from TV manufacturer TCL (The Creative Life). With a suggested retail price of $400, the TCL L40FHDF12TA is one of the cheapest 40-inch televisions around (most of its competitors show up in the $600 range). Still, it delivers a better performance than the price might suggest, says CNET reviewer Ty Pendlebury.

Eva Longoria And Ricardo Chavira In Mini-‘Desperate Housewives’ Reunion On ‘Welcome To The Family’ (VIDEO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt only took three episodes before “Welcome to the Family” reunited Ricardo Chavira with his former on-screen “Desperate Housewife.” Eva Longoria dropped by for a guest spot as Demetrio’s new teacher. But, in a fun little tie to their on-screen past, she was also Miguel’s ex-girlfriend, Ana.
Ana wanted to reminisce with Miguel, but Miguel quickly picked up on the fact that his wife was feeling very threatened by this beautiful teacher. Especially as Lissette was contemplating the fact that she was about to become a grandmother. Unfortunately, this culminated in Lissette acting out by telling Demetrio that he didn’t have to do the homework Ana assigned. That plan backfired, though, as she wound up being called in for a meeting alongside her husband. So, she basically brought them back together for some more awkwardness.
Those two scenes were the only ones Longoria had in the episode, but as Demetrio’s teacher, she’s set up to easily return later in the season. That said, there needs to be a later in the season for that to happen. As Variety notes, the cancellation clock is ticking” on “Welcome to the Family,” which is struggling to find an audience.

Marshawn Lynch Knocked Off Darnell Docket’s Helmet Because Beast Mode (VIDEO/GIF/PHOTO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliDarnell Docket is a massive 32-year-old defensive end who stands 6′ 4″ and weighs 290 pounds yet he was still no match for “Beast Mode” on this play. Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch separated the Arizona Cardinals’ three-time Pro Bowl selection from his helmet during a characteristically punishing run on “Thursday Night Football.”
Taking a handoff from Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson on a 2nd-and-5 play from the Cardinals’ 5-yard line during the third quarter, Lynch rumbled straight ahead into traffic. Dockett shrugged off his blocker and attempted to take down the Skittles-eating bruiser near the line of scrimmage. Instead, Lynch lowered a shoulder into his would-be tackler and knocked off Dockett’s helmet before continuing toward the end zone.
Following on the heels of the Fujifilm XQ1 compact digital camera recently announced, the camera maker has also introduced the interchangeable lens X-E2. With this camera comes the ability to swap out lenses for more demanding photography needs, bringing along an APS-C sized variety of the X-Trans CMOS II 16.3-megapixel sensor. In addition to the […]
‘Parks & Recreation’ Welcomes ‘Orphan Black’ Star Tatiana Maslany, But Will Tom Scare Her Away? (VIDEO)
Posted in: Today's ChiliTatiana Maslany — or was it one of her “Orphan Black” clones? — dropped by “Parks & Recreation.” She played Nadia, a doctor looking to set up a vaccination clinic in one of Pawnee’s parks. But before she barely get this request out, Tom was all up in her face with a weird, fake British accent.
He told April later that he panicked. Then he decided to use bureaucracy and red tape to keep Nadia around even longer, even though she seemed genuinely disturbed by everything in Pawnee. Finally, he couldn’t keep her any longer, and so he and April had to track her down at the hospital where she worked. Tom tried to get April to take the blame for everything, but April had a better idea.
“Tom wants me to tell you that all the screw-ups were my fault, but really he kept messing up so you would stay in Pawnee as long as possible because he is super into you,” April told Nadia.
