Anki Drive Arrives In Apple Stores 23rd October

Earlier this year during Apple’s WWDC 2013 event, the Cupertino company had more than just iOS 7 and refreshed MacBook Airs to share. In fact during the event, remote controlled cars were demonstrated and what makes them particularly unique is not only can they be controlled via the iPhone, but these cars will come with a built-in AI that will allow them to interact with one another while following behavioral patterns that have been defined in the iOS app, making it like a racing game, but in real life.

For those unfamiliar, the Anki Drive cars will be placed on a vinyl track and will be able to position and calibrate themselves on the track using tiny built-in cameras, with players controller the gas and the guns on the car using the app that has been built for the iPhone in mind. The more shots fired at the opposition, the more points gamers can score, which in turn can be used to upgrade these cars. It’s a unique idea and not to mention looks incredibly fun as well. The Anki Drive will be available for purchase via Apple retail stores come 23rd of October and will set you back $199. For more info, check out the video above to see the cars in action.

iPhoto And Garage Band App Icons Look iOS 7 Ready

iPhoto And Garage Band App Icons Look iOS 7 ReadyGiven that Apple has pretty much updated most of its native apps to match the new look and feel of iOS 7, we’re sure there are some who are wondering when will those updates make its way to other Apple apps. Well the good news is that if you’re a frequent user of Garage Band or iPhoto, it seems that a makeover of those apps is on the horizon, thanks to new icons for either app that was sighted recently. The app icons have been redesigned to look flatter, but unfortunately as to how the app looks inside remains unknown, but presumably we will be looking at a theme that will be more cohesive with iOS 7.

There are other Apple apps that have yet to be updated, namely Apple’s iWork suite of apps, such as Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and iMovie, all of which have yet to receive the same treatment, but presumably is in the works (hopefully). No word on when these updated apps will be released, but some are speculating that a release next week is possible, so check back with us then to see if this report pans out.

Original Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Is Getting A 3D Makeover

Original Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Is Getting A 3D MakeoverWhile the Grand Theft Auto franchise might have had its popularity explode when it went 3D with Grand Theft Auto 3, we’re not sure how many gamers actually remember what the game used to look like back in the day where it was presented as a top-down game in 2D. It did not have the best graphics at that time, but its gameplay more than made up for it. In any case one of the creators of the first Grand Theft Auto, Michael Dailly, has decided to remake Liberty City in 3D.

Unfortunately this is not a remake of the game itself, but rather a reimagining of Liberty City from a 3D perspective. Dailly used GameMaker: Studio which is made by his current employer, YoYo Games, and instead of being a playable map, it would be more like a tour of Liberty City in 3D. At this point in time, Dailly has not decided what he plans to do with the 3D version of Liberty City, although adding gameplay will probably not be happening anytime soon, possibly due to copyright reasons we’re assuming. In any case if you’re a little nostalgic and want to see Dailly’s progress, hit up his Twitter account where he will be posting updates.
