Panasonic Lumix GM1 Announced

Panasonic Lumix GM1 AnnouncedIt is encouraging to see that the Micro Four Thirds camera format is starting to gain traction among those who do not want all that a full DSLR delivers, and yet want to capture some seriously good looking photos. Panasonic has been at the forefront of Micro Four Thirds technology for some time already, and their latest addition to the family would be the Lumix GM1.

The Panasonic Lumix GM1 is extremely small in terms of its physical size, where it will be equipped with a 16-megapixel sensor, a 3” LCD display that tilts, 1/16,000 shutter speed, the ability to capture video in Full HD (1080p) resolution, and of course, something that seems to be the staple more and more these days in digital cameras – integrated Wi-Fi support, which was also spotted in the recently announced Sony Cyber-shot RX10.

The Panasonic Lumix GM1 is a looker for sure, where it arrives in a metal alloy frame, sporting classy looking aluminum dials that are complemented by a brushed-steel finish. Unfortunately, we do not quite have a lid on the pricing details as at press time, so hopefully, something more concrete from Panasonic will be shared later in the day. In any case, it will not be dirt cheap, but should be on par with other higher end Micro Four Thirds shooters in the market.

Facebook T&C Allows Teens To Post Publicly

Facebook T&C Allows Teens To Post PubliclyWhen we were young, all we wanted to do was grow up so that we can do all the stuff that grown ups do. There is that sense of thrill and adventure to it, of course. Well, Facebook recently made an announcement concerning another change in the site’s usage terms, which would see previous restrictions on the way that minors used the social network lifted up. Basically, anyone is now able to post publicly, whereas in the past, only those who were 18 and above could do so, while minors were restricted to just sharing updates with friends or friends of friends.

Facebook mentioned, “While only a small fraction of teens using Facebook might choose to post publicly, this update now gives them the choice to share more broadly, just like on other social media services.” I would suppose that other social media services here would refer to Twitter and Instagram, and this move was most probably made to make sure it does not get left out otherwise there is the risk of seeing its user market share drop. All right now, I guess all of you young ones out there will whoop with joy and perform a celebratory dance, but seriously, how much more different would your life be? The world doesn’t need another angsty or emo-laden public post as there is the news which does that already.

Coby Gets A Change In Management, Existing Warranties Are Now Worthless

Coby Gets A Change In Management, Existing Warranties Are Now WorthlessHave you ever heard of the consumer electronics company Coby before? Well, they do churn out budget-oriented devices from time to time, ranging from MP3 players all the way to tablets and TVs, and have been in business for over two decades. Unfortunately, life is a very fickle thing, and it was earlier this summer that the company fell on hard times, which subsequently allowed the Gordon Brothers Group to pick up all of Coby’s assets – and this includes its inventory, name, and intellectual property just a couple of months back in August.

It must be noted, however, that Gordon Brothers did not assume any of Coby’s debt or existing obligations. This might sound like it ain’t such a big deal after all, but it is. After all, that would mean its warranties for products that had already been sold are now void, which has subsequently resulted in folks sending messages to Coby concerning their products requiring a fix or warranty replacement, to be met by nothing but silence. I guess it is just too bad if you picked up something from Coby earlier this year, and now that it is broken and supposedly still under warranty, there really isn’t anything else that you can do about it.

Rachael Ray Thinks Paula Deen And Food Network Will ‘Make Up As All Good Families Do’ (VIDEO)

During Rachael Ray’s visit to the clubhouse on “Watch What Happens: Live,” she got to talking about her former Food Network co-star, Paula Deen. The network let Deen go after she admitted to using racial slurs in the past during a deposition for a racial discrimination lawsuit. Deen has since won that lawsuit.

“Food Network loves Paula Deen and I think that they were really caught between a hot pan and a hard place there,” said Ray. “I think that the Food Network loves the fact that Paula’s been a part of their family forever. And that her family continues to cook on, and I believe that one day the family will make up as all good families do.”

As Ray pointed out, Deen’s sons, Bobby and Jamie, both have shows on Food Network and its sister network, Cooking Channel. Deen has been known to make guest appearances on both of their shows. And the network might be reconsidering Deen’s ouster for another reason.

Gilbert Arenas May Use $100 Bills For Toilet Paper, Definitely Got Paid A Lot (PHOTO)

Gilbert Arenas has money to burn — and perhaps worse.

The three-time All-Star didn’t play a single game last season but was still the third highest-paid player in the NBA thanks to a $111 million, six-year deal that he signed with the Washington Wizards in 2008. He took home $20,807,922 for doing nothing during the 2012-2013 campaign, according to Basketball-Reference.

“I don’t need the NBA money,” Arenas told HipHollywood when asked in September if he would be attempting a comeback. “I have enough of it.”
