Sony A7 And A7R Cameras Leaked

Sony A7 And A7R Cameras LeakedIt was not too long ago when we brought you word that Sony’s full frame NEX cameras which are to be released soon were rumored to be known as the Sony A7 as well as the Sony A7R. Well, I guess all of those rumors have proven themselves to be true, as at least a couple of leaked press shots have been caught in the wild, revealing a whole lot more of the full frame mirrorless cameras in the process. These images will give legs to previous rumors by propping them up with confirmation of a built-in viewfinder, in addition to pointing to options of carrying a Zeiss-branded 35mm f/2.8 prime lens that you can see above as well as a 28-70mm f/3.5-5.6 standard zoom.

Not all things are extremely rosy, however, as there are no additional photos for us to ogle over from other angles in order to discover more about the Sony A7 and the Sony A7R. Interestingly enough, however, the folks from Sony Alpha Rumors do lay claim that the A7R’s 36-megapixel sensor will be able to omit the standard anti-aliasing filter so that it can preserve detail instead, similar in manner to the Nikon D800E. Sony has been teasing a possible camera launch for tomorrow in Japan, so chances are we will not have to wait for too long for additional (and official!) information to surface.

Retina iPad Mini Wont Be Announced On October 22nd [Analyst]

The possibility of the next generation iPad mini having a Retina display has been discussed, affirmed and refuted multiple times over the past couple of months. We’ve seen different analysts, news outlets and unofficial sources voicing their own opinions, yet no one knows for sure if Apple is really going to unveil a Retina iPad mini at its iPad event on October 22nd. Apple actually hasn’t even confirmed its iPad event, it is just rumored to make the announcements on the aforementioned date. No invitations have been rolled out yet, no confirmations have been made so far.

In a note to investors today, analyst Brian White of Cantor Fitzgerald predicts that no Retina iPad mini is going to be announced at the event. He expects Apple to announce an iPad mini with minor changes to the internal hardware and predicts a Retina iPad mini launch for the first quarter of next year. White says that the iPad 5 is going to be the highlight of Apple’s event, as it is going to come with major design changes as well as substantial hardware upgrades. The analyst’s report is contradictory to the one by a reputed news outlet, which said last week that we’ll see a Retina display touting iPad mini on October 22nd. Hopefully Apple will kill the confusion at the event, lets keep our fingers crossed.

Shouldn’t Your Speaker System Transform? 500GB’s For $35, Sony RX100

Shouldn't Your Speaker System Transform? 500GB's For $35, Sony RX100

In my ripe old age of 27 I’ve become a strong advocate for a simple home theater, "downsizing" my projector, 7.1 speaker system, and A/V receiver to a wireless soundbar and quality plasma screen. This Panasonic 2.1 system is a great option for those who want to save a lot of money, a lot of space, and a lot of effort in building out their living room entertainment center. Lose the wires and add multiple speaker configuration options. It’s a win-win. $168. [Amazon]

It's Raining Diamonds on Saturn and Jupiter

We’re a little late to the party on this one, but it’s just too fascinating to pass up. A team of planetary scientists recently claimed that the mix of methane, carbon and lightning in Saturn’s atmosphere is causing diamonds to be forged in the planet’s atmosphere. Like, a lot of diamonds.

Apple Expands Its iPhone Trade-In Program

Apple Expands Its iPhone Trade In Program

In August, Apple launched its iPhone Reuse and Recycle program. It is essentially a trade-in program which lets users trade their old iPhones in exchange for a gift card, which must be put toward the purchase of a new iPhone. Up till now the trade-in program had only been exclusive to Apple Retail Stores within the U.S., but we heard last week that the fruit company might expand the program outside the U.S. The company confirmed today that the iPhone Reuse and Recycle program has now gone live in the U.K.

It was rumored that perhaps the program will also be expanded into several European countries, and so far there have been unconfirmed reports that the program has indeed gone live in some countries, but a statement from Apple on that hasn’t been received as yet. The way this program works is that customers walk into an Apple Store, hand an employee their old iPhone who will assess its value based on a number of parameters such as hardware and water damage as well as screen quality. If the customer accepts the value they’re offered, their iPhone will be taken and they’ll be given a gift card of the same value which must be used to purchase a new iPhone.
