Military hunts for real-life Iron Man armor

What if US special forces troops could virtually walk through a hail of bullets, lift objects with superhuman strength, and see in the dark?

A planned exoskeleton called the The Tactical Assault Light Operator Suit (TALOS) aims to give them those abilities if it can actually be built.

US Special Operations Command chief William McRaven has been asking industry, academia, and entrepreneurs to collaborate in building the sci-fi armor, which was inspired by the death of a commando in Afghanistan.

Special forces has been planning the armor for some time now, and last month it issued an appeal for proposals for “enhanced mobility and protection technologies in a fully integrated assault suit.”

Monty Python Ministry of Silly Walks Watch will encourage some unusual behavior

    python-watch
There are a myriad of lovely, well-crafted watches on the market that are sure to last for generations. They boast quality materials, classic designs, and all that other insanely boring stuff. It’s nice to have a good time piece like your grand-pappy did and all, but being in professional mode all the time is no fun for anyone now is it?

While there’s a special place in my heart for Tokyoflash with their crazy watches, they don’t really have a humorous style to them. Even their professional geek standards lack the kind of comedy that we need to pull us through the work day (though the animations are rather mesmerizing). While there are plenty of other ways to keep ourselves entertained, having the Monty Python Ministry of Silly Walks Watch around couldn’t hurt now could it?

This hilarious watch pays homage to what is quite likely one of the funniest and most easily recognizable skits. On the face of this watch is John Cleese, moving his legs about in a most hilarious way as the time passes. Seeing that this is only $35, the quality of its make is a bit questionable, but it will likely hold up for several years in good hands. Beware the power of this constant reminder though, as you may find yourself starting to think up a new and silly style of walking.

The Fifth Estate Review: More Questions Than Answers

It was once said that history is written by the victors, but that changed when something called the internet came along and put endless information at everyone’s fingertips, letting each of us come to our own conclusions. Best Buy Offers $100 For Any Working Smartphone To Trade-In With A New iPhone

Best Buy Offers $100 For Any Working Smartphone To Trade In With A New iPhone

It was rumored recently that Best Buy is going to launch yet another iPhone promotion. This particular promotion would see the retailer offering $100 for any working smartphone, the $100 would then have to be put towards the purchase of a new iPhone 5s or a new iPhone 5c. Today Best Buy officially announced the trade-in program. It will give a minimum $100 gift card for any working smartphone that’s traded in, customers must use the gift card to purchase a new iPhone, it can’t be put towards anything else.

So the entry level 16GB iPhone 5c is essentially free at Best Buy, notwithstanding the fact that customers will have to sign up for a two year contract. The 16GB iPhone 5c is offered for $99 on contract. The 16GB iPhone 5s comes down to $99 on contract from its MSRP of $199, thus offering significant savings for those willing to trade-in any of their old working smartphones for a brand spanking new iPhone. Bear in mind though that customers will still have to pay any activation fees and applicable sales tax, and they must also be eligible for an upgrade to get these prices. This promotion runs from October 13th to October 19th, but its available for the iPhone 5c starting today.

iPhone 5S stock finder now alerts you to fresh deliveries

    (Credit: Apple)

You might remember iPhone-Check, a free tool that checks Apple stores and shows you which models of the iPhone 5S are available.

Well, now it’s got a new side service that will send you an e-mail when the model you’re looking for is back in stock at a local store.

The free service remains U.S. only for now. And in case you’re worried about just where your e-mail address is going, creator Mordy Tikotzky tells me he “won’t be submitting them” to the National Security Administration. You can, of course, provide some other non-primary e-mail.

Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Users Complain Of Terrible Call Quality

Sprint Galaxy Note 3 Users Complain Of Terrible Call Quality

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has launched to positive reviews, customers who’ve picked up the device don’t seem to be bothered by any quirks or issues. That’s not entirely the case for those who opted for a Galaxy Note 3 from Sprint. The carrier’s official support forums are full of subscribers complaining about terrible call quality on their latest Samsung phablet, running on Sprint’s network. The carrier has said that this issue has come under the spotlight and has been relayed to the people who have the necessary power to investigate it.

The issue doesn’t seem to stem from faulty hardware it seems. Sprint subscribers who’ve complained about this issue say that its not the earpiece or the microphone, its with the calls, which are said to be cracky and full of distortion. The issue seems to be limited to Galaxy Note 3 only, those who’ve used replacement devices complain that the issue remains unaffected. No call quality problems are being reported with VoIP services, which rules out all possibilities of a hardware based issue. So its likely that this is a software related issue, one that can be fixed through a firmware update, though its anybodys guess when such an update is going to be rolled out. Sprint is currently investigating the issue. Calling Samsung for help won’t do any good, the manufacturer is relaying all complaints back to Sprint right now. Have you faced the same issue on your Sprint Galaxy Note 3?
