Outlook.com Android App Gets More Improvements

Outlook.com Android App Gets More ImprovementsIt goes without saying that any kind of app worth its salt deserves to receive updates from time to time, and Microsoft’s Outlook.com is one of them – especially when you use it on a platform such as Googles’s Android mobile operating system. In fact, we have received word that Microsoft has recently updated their Outlook app for Android with a slew of new features, where some of them have been features that users have been clamoring after for quite some time already. Looks like this is a classic case of the company listening to what its customers have to say, and then fulfilling such demand. Among the improvements include server-side search, which means you will no longer be limited to the emails that are stored locally on your device.

In the past, without server-side search, most folks would have just downloaded the length and breadth of their email account onto their device, but with this feature in tow, one will no longer need to do so. Pretty cool, don’t you think so? Apart from that, you are now able to set a vacation responder from the app, just in case you headed off from the office without doing so. Last but not least, there are also 11 color choices to pick from when it comes to personalizing your inbox. [Press Release]

Microsoft reportedly developing cookie alternative to track activity across devices

Last month brought word of Google’s AdID effort to replace the aging cookie as a way to track people’s activity on the internet, and it looks like Microsoft also has an alternative of its own in the works. According to a report from Ad Age, Microsoft is working on a new system that would let it …

Otterbox Commuter Series Wallet Case will hold all of your valuables on the go

    Otterbox Commuter
Phone cases come a dime a dozen, but thankfully there are some out there striving for function rather than aesthetics. It’s always nice to see a brand that we know and trust come out with a new product.  However, when it comes to protecting our phones, we always tend to stay a little on the skeptical side as you want to keep it safe.

Having an OtterBox case normally means your phone can take quite the beating. It will be safe from scratches, drops, keeps dust and debris out of your phone, and more. Knowing that you have this case means you will have a phone that can put up with a little abuse, or a lot, depending on how you treat it. At the end of the day though, you know it will be safe (and bulky).

They now have a Commuter Series out that will allow you to keep other valuables safe and sound in the case. It’s multi-layered, and has a sliding wallet that can hold three cards and a single bill. To let you know when it’s actually closed, it will give you an audible click so you know that nothing will be escaping. We all have a tendency to get lazy about shutting doors, windows, etc., so the confirmation would be quite useful in the same way a seat belt lock clicks into place. This is only available for the iPhone 5/5s  or the Galaxy S4, and either will cost you around $45.

HTC One Max Fingerprint Sensor Might Allow Users To Launch Apps

HTC One Max Fingerprint Sensor Might Allow Users To Launch Apps

There has been no shortage of HTC One Max rumors over the past few months. Time and time again we’ve heard that HTC is working on a super sized version of its popular One smartphone. The latest rumor suggests that the fingerprint sensor on HTC One Max, which is expected to be on its back, will allow users to launch apps by just using their fingers. This would be a rather interesting use of the fingerprint sensor, quite different from what Apple lets users do with Touch ID, which is just limited to locking and unlocking the device and authorizing iTunes purchases right now.

Apparently users will be able to assign each of their ten fingers to launch a different app, so when they touch the sensor with that particular finger, the pre-selected app will launch on its own. So users will be able to configure if they want their index finger to launch the music player or the thumb to launch the camera. It is not known for sure if the access will be limited to built-in apps or if users will get the ability to select third party apps as well. One thing is for sure though, this is just one of the rumors in the endless pit of scuttlebutt about HTC’s new phablet, a grain of salt is definitely advised.

9 projects I’d like to see Samsung take on

Could Samsung build a space elevator? Tough to say, but the company is as qualified as anyone to throw money at the idea.

    (Credit: Obayashi)

Last month, after Samsung rolled out the Galaxy Gear smartwatch and then followed the introduction of the gold iPhone 5S with its own gold Galaxy S4, I started drafting a list of projects that I’d like to see the gargantuan Korean conglomerate take a stab at. The idea was that since Samsung seems to quickly follow other companies under its own moniker, perhaps I should point them in the direction of a few totally original products that I’d actually like to see made.

Problem is, Samsung is so adept at the art of imitation-as-innovation that two of the items on my original list have already popped up. First there came word that the company is working on its own … [Read more]

The Cast of ‘Breaking Bad’ Gets Simpsonized

Breaking Bad might be over, but that doesn’t mean Walter White’s legacy is. His image, influence, and being lives on in fans of the show who have been mourning at the end of the hit series.

Another medium the show lives on is through fan artwork, such as the one that Belgian artist Adrien Noterdaem did.

He didn’t just re-draw the Breaking Bad characters in a cartoony way. He drew them following Matt Groening’s signature Simpsons style, resulting in an awesome gallery where Walter White, Jesse Pinkman, Saul Goodman, Walter White Jr, and the rest of the Breaking Bad crew get Simpsonized.
