AT&T Claims GDR2 And Amber Update Is Ready For Lumia 820 And 920

AT&T Claims GDR2 And Amber Update Is Ready For Lumia 820 And 920It seems that AT&T, over on their support forums, have shed some more light (some might even call it a confirmation) that the Windows Phone 8 GDR2 operating system update as well as its accompanying Amber firmware from Nokia is ready to rock and roll for both the Nokia Lumia 820 and Lumia 920 smartphones. The estimated time of arrival for the GDR2 update? Well, it has been slated for October 10th – which is basically tomorrow. Of course, one ought to be careful with such news, as there has been no official AT&T or Nokia press release to reflect this news, but a Community Manager did post up such information that you can read below.

AT&T has completed testing the Nokia Lumia 820/920 Windows Phone software update on our network. We expect Microsoft to make the update available beginning 10/10. When the software update is available for you to download, Windows Phone will notify you so you can download it directly over a Wi-Fi connection. We appreciate your patience.

It does sound like the real deal, but as usual, until there is an official press release or announcement, we will just have to take this with a grain of salt. A small grain this time around, of course.

Samsung Galaxy Gear Runs Full Android Apps

Samsung Galaxy Gear Runs Full Android AppsThe Samsung Galaxy Gear might not have taken off in the explosive manner that the folks over at Samsung had anticipated, but I am quite sure that it still has its fair share of fans. Well, what the Galaxy Gear could be would be to lead an existence of being a hacker-friendly device. It seems that some folks have already discovered a way to have the Galaxy Gear run on the full Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system despite the smartwatch having relatively low powered hardware in the first place. Apart from that, those with a technical know how will also be able to sideload full Android apps directly onto the device.

Needless to say, you will run into a number of limitations as to what the Galaxy Gea is capable of, since it comes with just a 1.6” display, an 800MHz processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory, and no native data connection to begin with. Still, it does not look too difficult to turn on USB debugging in the first place, which would then enable one to use ADB in order to sideload apps on the device. While it is not really all that functional in the first place, at least it is a proof of concept that it can be done.

Telekinetic Coffee Shop Shocks Walk In Customers

Have you ever grown up with hopes that your latent mutant ability would finally manifest itself one of these days? Assuming you have answered in the affirmative, good luck in waiting, as that will not happen anytime soon unless an elaborate hoax like the one in the video above is pulled off. In this “telekinetic coffee shop surprise” scenario, the coffee shop itself has been rigged, from spring loaded bookshelves to an actor that has a pulley attached to the back of his body so that it will create an illusion of him being kinetically manipulated by another actress, who is the “star” of this prank, after she is “angered” after getting her coffee cup knocked over.

Of course, most of the other folks in the coffee shop are also actors, and the hidden cameras will focus on the facial expressions of those walk-in customers who have absolutely no clue as to what is in store for them as they purchase their cup of coffee. It is definitely hilarious to check out the different kinds of facial expressions that arise from this particular prank for sure! Plenty of hard work has gone in to make it an elaborate deal, and it certainly puts the early days of “Candid Camera” to shame.
