Call Of Duty: Ghosts Specs Released By NVIDIA Are Not Official, According To Activision

Call Of Duty: Ghosts Specs Released By NVIDIA Are Not Official, According To ActivisionJust the other day, NVIDIA revealed the minimum hardware specification requirements gamers would need if they wished to play Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts on their computer. While some of the specs made sense, what really stood out was the fact that the game would require a whopping 50GB of hard disk space for the install! Granted games these days are getting bigger, but 50GB does seem like a lot, doesn’t it? Well there is a chance that the 50GB requirement could be wrong, according to a tweet by Activision.

The tweet was in response to a fan asking if the specs released by NVIDIA were official. According to Activision’s reply, the simple answer is no. “Unfortunately they are not. Please stay tuned for the official requirements coming soon, thank you.” We’re not sure why NVIDIA seemed to believe that those were the official specifications, perhaps it was based on their years of experience in the gaming industry, but either way gamers should take note of this. No word on when Activision will release the official specifications, but they did state that it was coming soon, so we guess we will just have to wait it out. In the meantime what sort of specs are you wishing NVIDIA got wrong? We’re sure the 50GB install could be one of them.

Xbox One Will Support Keyboard And Mouse In The Future

Xbox One Will Support Keyboard And Mouse In The FutureWhen it comes to playing RTS or FPS games, there are some who are more comfortable playing it with a keyboard and mouse combo, while there are some who are pretty comfortable using a gamepad. However the good news for Xbox One gamers is that if you were hoping that future games would allow you to use a keyboard and mouse, you’re in luck because Microsoft has not discounted the use of either peripheral just yet. Speaking during an interview with Newegg Arcade, Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb revealed that Xbox One support for the keyboard and mouse is possible, although it will not be supported right out of the box.

According to Hyrb, “We’ll certainly have this great SDK for developers to do what they like. If that’s something they’re interested in doing, we’ll certainly help them do that. Certainly it’s possible, but we don’t have anything to announce at this time.” It’s pretty vague but we guess gamers should take comfort in knowing that it will come a point in time where they will be able to game with a keyboard and mouse with the Xbox One. What do you guys think? Do you prefer using a gamepad for your FPS games? Or are you more of a keyboard and mouse kind of gamer?

GTA 5 Breaks 7 Guinness World Records

GTA 5 Breaks 7 Guinness World RecordsWe knew that Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto 5 game was a winner in terms of sales, and also reviews that we’ve come across so far, but it looks like the game has also managed to break seven Guinness World Records as well. According to the records that GTA 5 has managed to break, they have managed to achieve the “Best-selling action-adventure video game in 24 hours”, “Best-selling video game in 24 hours”, “Fastest entertainment property to gross $1 billion” (took them just three days to pull in a whopping $1 billion), “Fastest video game to gross $1 billion”, “Highest grossing video game in 24 hours”, “Highest revenue generated by an entertainment product in 24 hours”, and “Most viewed trailer for an action-adventure video game”.

Those are some pretty impressive accolades right there! The game was launched on the 17th of September and was made available simultaneously for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Presumably the game would have made more money if it had been released for the PC as well, but oddly enough Rockstar has decided to skip on a PC version of GTA 5, at least for now. There is also no word on whether Rockstar will eventually add support for next-gen consoles like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, but for now even though it is available for two consoles, it has proven to be a massive hit.

Dell Unveils A New Line Of XPS Machines

This article was written on May 31, 2006 by CyberNet.

Dell is breaking into new ground by releasing three new XPS computers: a laptop, a mobile computer, and a desktop. The one that will really catch your eye is the “mobile computer” because it is a mix between a laptop and a desktop. Okay, we’ll dig a little deeper into these now.

Dell Unveils A New Line Of XPS Machines

Dell’s new XPS M1210 is an ultraportable laptop that starts at $1300. While the XPS computers are designed to be the gaming notebooks you might want to think twice before purchasing a laptop over a desktop if you are a gamer. The 12.1-inch screen could become tedious when trying to play those full-screen games, despite it having a nice WXGA resolution of 1,280×800. Overall, the specs do seem impressive with the optional 256MB Nvidia GeForce graphics card, but don’t be fooled by the low starting price.

Dell Unveils A New Line Of XPS Machines

Ahhh, probably the most interesting computer that Dell has ever released is the XPS M2010. It is a cross between a desktop and a laptop. All of the specs make it sound like a desktop like the 20.1 inch monitor and a max of 4GB ram, but then you see the interesting 12-cell battery that is included. Dell has released this machine to allow users to easily transport the computer from place to place, but who will want to lug around a 20-inch display? I could see this being useful in a school that wishes to share one PC between multiple classrooms for presentations and such. That way it has a battery so you don’t always have to be near an outlet, but I wonder how long the battery would really last.
UPDATE: Make sure to watch CNet’s video on this cool computer.

Dell Unveils A New Line Of XPS Machines

Lastly is the almighty desktop. The XPS 700 sports the Pentium Extreme Edition Dual Core processor and has a variety of graphics options that you can choose. The most notable change is the computer case. It looks like they are trying to move towards the Alienware look. This machine will start off costing you $2,410 but by the time you get done configuring it you will probably break $3K.

Here are some of the specifications for each of the new XPS machines as CNet reports them:

iPad Mini Found To Have The Fastest Touchscreen

iPad Mini Found To Have The Fastest TouchscreenWhen we interact with our smartphones or tablets, we don’t really notice how long it takes for an app or action to happen once we touch it as the response time is usually in milliseconds, but for those who are curious as to which tablet has the fastest touchscreen, well the folks at Agawi have decided to find out themselves by running several tests, with the results coming back and deciding that Apple’s iPad mini hash the fastest touchscreen of all the popular tablets out there in the market today.

According to their results, the iPad mini had an average response time of 75 milliseconds. Coming in second would be the fourth-gen iPad with a response time of 81 milliseconds, followed by the NVIDIA Shield console with 92 milliseconds. Next would be the Microsoft Surface RT, the Kindle Fire HD (2013 edition), the Nexus 7, and finally the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Like we said, for the most part the average user probably would not be able to tell the difference between the delays, but for those who are concerned about the numbers and love benchmarks, we guess the iPad mini is the clear winner, something to think about the next time you’re deciding on which tablet to get.
