Lenovo just announced two new Android Tablets (4.2.2), called Yoga Tablet 10 and Yoga Tablet 8. They are very affordable tablets ($249 and $299) designed around large battery capacities of 6000mAh and 9000mAh (for reference the iPad 4 had around 11000mAh, and the Nexus 7 2013 has 3950mAh), thanks to their very particular design. The battery is housed into the circular section at the top of the display, which allows Lenovo to use standard cylindrical batteries instead of custom flat ones which are much more expensive. Lenovo then sought to make the best use of that volume by turning it into a stand and an effective grip. That’s also where the very large (and easy to find) Power button is.

Conservatives Pushing Immigration Reform Say Piecemeal Approach Gains Steam
Posted in: Today's ChiliWASHINGTON — Conservatives supporting immigration reform said they felt better about its chances after a day of lobbying on Capitol Hill Tuesday, but also resigned that most House Republicans won’t go for a comprehensive bill.
“When I came in, I thought it was a done deal — dead,” Brad Bailey, a self-avowed conservative and chairman of the Texas Immigration Solution, said after meetings with Texas Republican House members. “But actually, I have a little hope held out that this is something that people are realizing that everyone wants, and the piecemeal approach is not totally bad. Something is better than nothing.”

Word on the street has it that Motorola has a lower-cost version of the Moto X in the works. The handset was previously known as the Motorola DVX, but recent rumors have suggested that the handset will be officially known as the Moto G. Well according to a screenshot grabbed by the folks at Droid-Life, it looks like the handset’s name has been made official, thanks to a sighting on Motorola’s website where you can see in the image above, the name Moto G has made a brief appearance. The name has since been taken down but even when it was active, the link to whatever page it was going to lead us to did not work, but it would seem to suggest that at the very least Motorola could be planning its launch.
According to the rumors, the upcoming Moto G will feature a 4.5” LCD display that will be powered by Motorola’s X8 Computer System. It will also allegedly come with dual-SIM capabilities and is said to cost anywhere between $200-$250 off-contract, definitely making it a lot more affordable than its higher-end Moto X handset. In any case these are hardly the official specs, so take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully Motorola will be making an announcement in the near future, so stay tuned for more updates!

It is safe to say that Apple’s iPhone is without a doubt popular regardless of wherever you go, although its market share will vary from country to country. However it seems that with the recent launch of the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c in Japan, especially with NTT DOCOMO finally coming on board and offering the device to their subscribers, Apple’s iPhone has managed to capture a fairly significant amount of market share. This is according to research consultants, Counterpoint Research, who has found that Apple managed to capture 34% of the 2.8 million mobile sales in Japan this September, a very sizeable and noticeable increase from its estimated market share of 14% in July and August.
According to Counterpoint’s director, Tom Kang, “This is the first time any handset brand has crossed the 30% mark in the last decade in one of the most modern digital handset market in the world, Japan.” Kang notes that is particularly impressive due to the numerous brands available, not to mention how the three major carriers in Japan control these brands which would ultimately make it pretty hard for a single brand to dominate. NTT DOCOMO had recently revealed that despite offering the new iPhone that they were still bleeding subscribers, but hopefully as stock begins to stabilize that they will start seeing the numbers they desired.
