NeoGeo X maker told to cease production and stop selling retro console

About a year ago, we mentioned that the NeoGeo X Gold game console would be launching around the world for $199.99. This device was a remake of a game console from years back that was to launch as part of the 20th anniversary celebration for the original NeoGeo game console. The new edition of the […]

You might think that this image looks a little bodged together, and you’d be right to. After all, it’s literally a collage of photographs obtained by Voyager I—all the way back in 1979.

Intel NUC case competition showcases creative modding in miniature

Intel’s latest NUC is a wee marvel of PC tech, but the design of its case calls to mind, well, every other fanless PC we’ve ever seen. To its credit, though, the chip giant is sponsoring a case modding competition through enthusiast site Bit-Tech to liven things up. The finalists have definitely …

Half-Life 3 trademark filing may have been bogus

Valve made its name on the back of its very popular Half-Life video game franchise. It’s been a number of years since Half-Life 2 was launched back in 2007. That was the last video game in the franchise, launched about six years ago. Lots of fans of the franchise were understandably excited last week when […]

Sholdit Scarf is the keeper of secrets

Sholdit
There are days when you find yourself without a suitable pocket in which you can put your keys, cards, cash, and phone. Nowadays, those are the only real ‘essentials’ we need to tote around. However, you don’t always want to carry a bag with you in place of your pockets, as they can quickly become quite cumbersome. For ladies, we have the go-to of jamming things in our bra (it seriously is another pocket), but that can become pretty uncomfortable after a while, and doesn’t always look that inconspicuous.

If you’re wanting to stay fashionable without having to lug around an entire bag or purse, then there may an option for you yet. It has been named the Sholdit Scarf, and it is both clever and cute. This infinity scarf will allow you a bag that won’t be recognizable by anyone but you.

Obviously, this is aimed at women from the photos they have provided for this product, but that shouldn’t deter gents who like to be trendy on occasion. There are black, cranberry, eggplant, and titanium color options to choose from, and they’ll cost you about $50 a piece. This would be great for travel so you have less to carry onto the plane, and no one will be terribly tempted to snatch a scarf. Possibly the most important factor is whether or not it’s soft, as it will be wrapped around you when you wear it. I don’t know enough about materials to make a valid claim for polyester with spandex, but I am a tad skeptical.

NTT DOCOMO Still Bleeding Subscribers Despite Offering The New iPhones

NTT DOCOMO Still Bleeding Subscribers Despite Offering The New iPhonesJapan’s NTT DOCOMO was the last of the major Japan carriers to start offering the iPhone, although they did kick that off with Apple’s new iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. One of the reasons the carrier decided to sign on with Apple was because they were tired of losing subscribers to their rivals, such as KDDI and Softbank who offered the iPhone way before NTT DOCOMO did. Unfortunately it seems that despite offering the new iPhones, NTT DOCOMO is reportedly still losing subscribers to their rivals and they are blaming limited stock as the reason. According to a report from Reuters, the carrier saw a drop of 66,800 subscribers in the month of September which is a stark contrast to those of KDDI and Softbank who saw an increase in subscribers.

We’re not sure how the other two carriers are enjoying success while NTT DOCOMO isn’t. It is not news that the iPhone 5s is currently experiencing shipping delays due to its production not going as well as it should have, with some blaming the Touch ID sensor as one of the reasons why production is slow and supply is constrained. Either way or the folks at KDDI and Softbank were allocated more units, or NTT DOCOMO underestimated the demand. In any case this is not a short-term solution for the carrier and the benefits will probably show up in the long-run, but for now it does not look like they are off to a good start.

Inactive Outlook.com e-mail addresses are recycled

Providing free e-mail addresses is big business for many large web companies such as Google and Yahoo. The web giants don’t make money off e-mail addresses or the e-mail service itself, but they do make huge amounts of money by selling ad space inside the free e-mail services. You may recall that Yahoo found itself […]

Calculator Unboxing Video Parody Is Hilarious

Unboxing videos are something of a tease, where you get to see someone tear open a brand new gadget without you experiencing any of the joy yourself. On the upside it lets you know what you can expect in the box, so you know if your box might have left out one accessory, or if it is different from what’s in the videos. We have created several unboxing videos ourselves in the past, such as with the 2013 Nexus 7 tablet which we hope was of immense value to our readers/viewers. Obviously not everyone feels the same way about unboxing videos and YouTube creator, Numberphile, has come up with a parody video of sorts where they unbox a handful of different calculators. According to the video’s description, “We put three calculators through their paces with a series of special tests.” It’s a pretty hilarious video and if you’re feeling the Monday blues, this will definitely cheer you up (no promises!). The video itself is rather lengthy at 13:50 so you might want to grab a drink or a snack, sit back, and enjoy!
