Porn Performers Defy Producers, Say They Want Condoms (VIDEO)

Porn performers are coming out of the woodwork to express their preference for condom use on set, defying producers’ claims that actors prefer to go without.

On HuffPost Live Tuesday, porn performers Cindy Starfall and Sovereign Syre said they would like to have the option of using condoms on set. Starfall went on to point out that porn company Wicked Pictures has been successful with the use of condoms — refuting the claim by some in the industry that condoms hurt sales.

But when Starfall was asked if directors and producers accept condoms being used on set, she answered, “Of course not, because they’re always shooting bareback.”

Test Drive: Toyota Winglet Mobility Device

Me, riding the Winglet…

We’ve reported about the Toyota Winglet earlier this week but since then, I have been able to test-drive one of those cool personal electric vehicle, so here are my impressions: at a very high level, it’s like a Segway, which you may or may not have seen in the real world, but it’s fair to say that most people would naturally be inclined to draw that comparison. It’s the same idea, but the designs are quite different: the Winglet is smaller and would probably beat the Segway in terms in slalom and sharp turn, while Segway may be better for uneven surface and rougher environments. Martha Stewart could have used a Mayday button.

The 72-year-old legend made news last week when she cracked her iPad screen and took to Twitter to ask what to do.

Frustrated with a lack of response from Apple, Stewart complained to her nearly 3 million Twitter followers. “I am still waiting for an apple rep to come pick up my IPad. No action yey [sic],” she wrote, before sending seven more tweets about her broken tablet.

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX review (7-inch)

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX review (7-inch)

There was surprisingly little fanfare surrounding the announcement of Amazon’s latest Fire tablets. Where last year’s unveiling involved renting out an airplane hangar at the Santa Monica airport, the new tablet trio was quietly shown off to a small gathering of journalists at the company’s Seattle headquarters. Asked why Amazon opted for something so low-key, a rep answered, that CEO Jeff Bezos “just likes to mix things up.” (Those wacky billionaires.) Indeed, there was little rhyme or reason to the scaling back. After all, the new HDX tablets, available in 7- and 9-inch sizes, bring a number of key upgrades to the Kindle Fire line on both the hardware and software fronts.

And that’s a good thing: between the Nexus 7, iPad mini and a seemingly endless parade of pocket-sized tablets, Amazon has more competition to contend with than ever. But while the company’s acknowledged that its tablets are basically just content delivery vessels, it’s chosen to compete on specs as well, with a 1,920 x 1,200, 323-ppi display, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor and new software features that include baked-in video customer support and a “Second Screen” TV feature. So is that enough to keep the Kindle Fire competitive?%Gallery-slideshow99754%

Aerial Imaging (AI) Plate Gets New Applications

Aerial Imaging (AI) Plate Gets New Applications[CEATEC 2013] We took a gander at Asukanet’s Aerial Imaging (AI) plate last year, where the premise of this particular setup was extremely simple – it will project an image that looks as though a “hologram” is being projected ala Star Wars. The projection itself will be placed at a 45-degree angle from the display, where your peripheral vision would be able to “capture” this “hologram” within a radius of 40-degrees. It does seem as though the image quality has improved, and there are several new applications that were demonstrated on the showfloor.

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Francisco Liriano showed up at PNC Park on Tuesday afternoon in a suit with his suitcase packed for a trip St. Louis.

The message reverberated through the Pittsburgh Pirates clubhouse. After 21 years away from the playoffs, it was time for the best story in baseball to become something more than a novelty act.
