Little Ghostbuster gets a sweet Ecto-1 push car

Ghostbusters: the next generation.

(Credit: RottenKitten)

Get ready to envy the heck out of this. The same cool geek parents who brought us this classic Marty McFly and push-car DeLorean last year are the proud sponsors of a Ghostbusters-themed costume and car for Halloween 2013.

Cooper, who has definitely gotten bigger since the last time we saw him, is trading out his red McFly vest for a full-on “Ghostbusters” outfit complete with an Ecto-Blaster backpack. The push-car modifications also have ramped up in difficulty, but his creative engineer parents, Cory and Jeremy Newton-Smith, were up to the task.

The Ecto-1 mini-replica uses the same Step2 push-car base as the DeLorean. The outside is crafted from cardboard boxes, Mexican take-out salsa cups, soda bottles, LEDs, tape, paint, and bits of electronics recycled from a real vehicle. All the important bits are there, including the massive fins, Ghostbusters logo, police lights on top, and shiny grill.

Sony Xperia Z Ultra CyanogenMod 10.2 Nightly Builds Rolling Out

Sony Xperia Z Ultra CyanogenMod 10.2 Nightly Builds Rolling Out

After months of endless rumors, the Sony Xperia Z Ultra was announced back in June. Its certainly one of the biggest smartphones that Sony has made, with respect to its sheer size, as it touts a 6.4 inch full HD display. If you don’t like running Sony’s customized Android 4.2 user interface on that gigantic display, there’s now a alternative available which brings an experience that’s much closer to AOSP. CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly builds have started to roll out for the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, not only bringing a refined user interface, but also an updated version of Android.

That’s right, CyanogenMod 10.2 for Sony Xperia Z Ultra brings Android 4.3. Installing the custom ROM shouldn’t be much of a hassle since Sony usually doesn’t lock down its bootloader, if you have a custom recovery installed, you’re good to go. The relevant ROM for Sony Xperia Z Ultra is available under the “togari” codename, it weighs in at 217MB. There’s just one build available as of now, but more stable builds are likely to be released in the near future. Since nightly builds can tend to be buggy, it would be a good idea to create a backup of your data prior to installing the custom ROM. The applicable flashable Google apps pacakage will also be required if access to Google services such as the Play Store is needed after installation. The CyanogenMod 10.2 nightly build for Xperia Z Ultra can be downloaded here.

Noise-Canceling Window Treatment Is Everything You Need For A Better Night’s Sleep (VIDEO)

Urban living has its perks, but rarely (if ever) is noise mentioned among them.

Until now, heavy curtains or pricey soundproof windows have been the best way to keep the blaring-ringing-talking sounds of the city streets out of urban homes, but Austrian industrial designer Rudolf Stefanich has another option in mind.

Stefanich’s ‘Sono’ device sticks onto your window, turning it into a filter for disruptive noises like car horns and construction work. You can even let pleasant sounds like birds chirping in instead, with the turn of a knob.

This Mobile Maritime Launch Pad Puts Satellites in Orbit for LessWhen it comes to orbital launch positioning, the Earth has something of a sweet spot: the equator. Like a gigantic planetary baseball bat, rockets jump off the Earth’s center-line with ease, able to enter geostationary orbits using a fraction of the energy required anywhere else on the planet.
