Best For Music: PS4 or Xbox One?

Let’s get one thing out of the way: Nobody buys a gaming console for music. Yes, modern consoles increasingly run all kinds of non-game apps — especially the entertainment kind — as the manufacturers of just about every type of consumer electronics aim to be the primary interface between people and their favorites 1s and 0s.

Plugging in an EV to recharge while you’re at work is commonplace for electric car drivers, but Nissan wants to take things the opposite way with its Leaf, with a “Vehicle-To-Building” system that can turn a small fleet of cars into a power source for business infrastructure. The feature, currently in early field testing, sees […]

KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan apologized to President Hamid Karzai for a drone strike that killed a child and NATO promised an investigation Friday as rising tensions threatened efforts to persuade the Afghan leader to sign a long-delayed security agreement.

FIFA rolls out iOS and Android apps ahead of 2014 World Cup Final Draw

Now that we know which 32 football nations will be on the quest for global domination in Brazil, FIFA, the sport’s governing body, decided it was the right time to release a set of apps for iOS and Android. These official applications, which are free of charge, provide fans with access to a ton of footie-related stuff, including news, videos, photos and match results from nearly 200 leagues. The FIFA app also lets you mark up to three national teams, clubs and competitions as favorites, allowing easy access to information from those followed the most. Better yet, FIFA’s going to be using its new mobile ware to stream the 2014 World Cup Final Draw on December 6th, so you’ll be able to see in real-time what road lies ahead for your country.

‘Inside Llewyn Davis’ Clip Features Riotous ‘Please Mr. Kennedy’ Performance

We’re counting down the days until the world can set its eyes on the Coen Brothers’ “Inside Llewyn Davis.” (It’s six if your city’s lucky enough to score next weekend’s limited release, 20 if not.)

In the meantime, tide yourself over with this newly released clip in which Llewyn (Oscar Isaac) lands a paying gig performing just the sort of standard tunes he’s trying to avoid. Isaac joins Justin Timberlake and Adam Driver in the clip, which finds the trio playing the boorish “Please Mr. Kennedy.” The scene has already generated some buzz as one of the film’s most humorous moments, so you can either relish the sneak peak or save yourself for the full movie, which recently nabbed two major Independent Spirit Award nominations.

Siberia Elite shows an old dog a few new tricks

steelseries_siberia_next_full-size_headset
SteelSeries is widely known amongst the gaming community for having amazing peripherals. One of my personal favorites was the Sibera V2 headset. It isn’t the cream of the crop, but it’s affordable, and does my most beloved tunes justice. However, technology is always in an ever-changing state, and it came as no surprise that SteelSeries would come out with a bigger, better headset.

Enter in the Siberia Elite. As the name implies, it’s got a lot more going on under the hood, and looks good to boot! This white headset is complimented by rings of LED light on the outside ear cup, both of which are capable of 16.8 million different color possibilities. On the left ear cup, you will be able to rotate a dial to mute or unmute your microphone. The right side ear cup has a dial that will let you control the volume. This means no more fiddling with in-line controls. The band that goes across the top of your head uses a self-adjusting suspension system so that it won’t become too heavy over time.

The ear cups are made of leather, and will put virtual 7.1 surround sounds into your ear holes. Thanks to the SteelSeries Engine 3, you can customize those sounds specifically in 10 different profiles so you can get the most out of each game you play. The microphone is capable of noise reduction, meaning you won’t sound terrible during a call. It is also retractable, so when you’re not talking to friends it won’t be in your way. This will cost you $200, and has a swappable cable system so it can be used on anything from a PC to your smartphone.
