This week the folks at Parrot have announced that they’re working with Microsoft closely to release not only apps and connections between Windows Phone and their Parrot.AR Drone 2.0 and Zik, but Windows 8 as well. It does seem as though our society is unable to get enough of the zombie mania. The Walking Dead, in its fourth season already, still draws plenty of viewers every single week. Well, we are pleased to announce that Dead Rising 3’s most recent trailer, where it sports the title “Snowflakes”, unfortunately has very little snow inside, but what is more important, it does come with a fair number of zombies to scare the little bits and pieces out of you. Unfortunately for the masses, the “Snowflakes” trailer does not offer anything new, since it more or less repeats plenty of the similar kind of gameplay that has been presented since the game was first announced, except that this time around, the trailer has snippets of quotations that were pulled from sites out of context from reviewers.
Compare this with Ryse: Son of Rome’s launch trailer which was also recently released, where that featured plenty of gameplay action, including material that can be deemed to be sensitive and potentially disturbing for minors, flying limbs and all. One ought to bear in mind that Dead Rising 3 happens to be one of the Xbox One’s leading exclusive launch titles, so do expect it to arrive alongside the Xbox One this coming November 22nd.

Ever since Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat, Android users have been itching to know when the update is going to drop for their particular devices. Some OEMs have detailed their roadmaps, at least for their flagship devices. HTC has offered additional details about the update roadmap for this year’s flagship, the HTC One, as well as the Droid DNA. Rest assured, the Taiwanese manufacturer has every intention to release KitKat for both of these devices, but its going to take some time.
The company revealed these details through its official HTC USA Twitter account. On Android 4.4 KitKat for Droid DNA, HTC says that the update is going to be released by the end of Q1, 2014, so that’s basically a four month timeframe which is “pending certification from your carrier.” What this means is that carrier testing of the update might delay its release beyond the timeframe, it can’t be said for sure, but it certainly is a possibility. HTC One owners on Verizon have yet to receive the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, the compay says that the update for compatibility will happen this week and Android 4.3 itself will come in December. It was quick to point out that the delay in Android 4.3 release isn’t going to delay the delivery of Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC Sense 5.5, which is scheduled to drop by the end of January, 2014.

There is something miraculous about a woman giving birth to a child, but on the other hand, childbirth too, does come with its fair share of risks. Some babies are a whole lot more challenging to deliver than others. It is nice to know that technology has got our backs, as in select modern hospitals, the childbirth process is made a whole lot easier and safer even when the baby’s head is experiencing some issues in coming out. Tools are at hand to assist in the delivery, while there is always the good old standby option, which would be a C-section. However, not all countries are developed, and it is in those places where any kind of help in delivery is always more than welcome. Jorge Odón, an Argentine car mechanic by profession, was inspired by a video that depicted how one is able to remove a cork which was pushed into a bottle earlier on, to apply a similar removal technique to newborns’ heads.
His creation is known as the Odon Device, where it will be inserted so that the bag will grab onto the baby’s head. Once that happens, it will inflate so that suction is created, and when one pulls on the handles as the mother pushes, the baby’s head will be propelled forward without the need for any rigid tools which could prove harmful and detrimental to the child. Talk about translational medicine at its quirky best!

HTC promised that One owners would get Android 4.4 KitKat within 90 days of the OS’ announcement, and it’s now detailing when specific countries will get their turn. The company’s North American and UK branches both say that they will start upgrading Ones to KitKat by late January, or right at the tail end of the 90-day window. There isn’t any word regarding the upgrade schedules in other large countries. However, Droid DNA fans won’t be left — HTC says they should get KitKat by the end of first quarter, or no later than March.

It has been rumored a few times that HTC’s gigantic phablet, the One Max, is going to make its way over to the largest mobile network in the U.S. Just last month, press renders of the Verizon HTC One Max were leaked online. Though at this point in time it is not known exactly when Verizon plans on releasing the phablet on its network, the carrier hasn’t said how much it is going to cost. According to new information and a picture that has surfaced today, it is likely that the Verizon HTC One Max price is likely to be $299.99 along with a new two year contract.
The picture you see posted above revealing the Verizon HTC One Max price was taken at Mall of America, where the carrier unveiled a new store concept today. Big Red didn’t have a demo in-store apparently, though one of the interactive displays featured the device and revealed its price. Those who don’t want it for $299.99 up front can opt for the Verizon Edge plan, and commit to 24 equal monthly payments of $24.99. Sprint might have launched the same device with virtually no carrier branding, the device seen in this image contains Verizon’s logo up front. Verizon is yet to officially announce the release date of this device, hopefully it will do that soon. [Image via HTC Source]
