Philipp Lenssen, author of Google Blogoscoped, has put together a book entitled “55 Ways To Have Fun With Google”. He covers a lot of interesting Google topics and there have been many people that have said they can’t put the book down! It will cost you $16.50 if you want to get a copy for yourself, but it sounds like it will be worth it. Here is the description of the book:

The company known as Oppo is starting to grow to be a force that ought to be reckoned with its growing list of smartphones that were released in recent memory, and this time around, we have word that yet another smartphone from Oppo has already been certified by the Chinese Authorities in China. This particular mystery handset happens to be the Oppo R827T, and just about all of its specifications have been revealed to the masses.

For starters, we do know that the Oppo R827T will arrive with a 4.7-inch display that has 960 x 540 pixel resolution, not to mention running on a quad-core 1.2GHz processor according to the filing. This would most probably be the hugely popular MediaTek MT6589 processor among hardware manufacturers in China, with 1GB RAM although we do not know just how much internal memory is thrown into the mix. Take comfort, however, that a microSD memory card slot is there for expansion purposes. At the back of the Oppo R827T lies an 8-megapixel shooter, while in the front, you will find a 2-megapixel camera. Expect the Oppo R827T to support the likes of GSM and TD-SCDMA networks in China when it arrives in black, white and blue shades. All in all, this should be the Oppo Find 5 Mini.

Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade has somewhat received a boost from the technology side of things – where it is normally touted to be an unofficial ushering in of the holiday season. This year, a New York City official did not launch Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but rather, it was a robot that had the honor of doing so. This robot, known as “SONIC”, was the brainchild of students from The Woodlands High School in Texas.

Around 35 of them, where needless to say, all of them happen to also be members of a local robotics club, worked on SONIC to make it part of a competition which was led by FIRST, a non-profit organization that intends to boost up participation levels of youth when it comes to the fields of science and technology fields. SONIC had the grand honor of cutting the ribbon to kick off the massive celebration, but it is a good thing that SONIC was not alone, either, as there were another five robots hanging around, weighing 150 pounds apiece. These robotic brethren of SONIC happened to be constructed by student groups across the country, and their main task? To play a supporting role by shooting confetti along the parade route, all 2.5 miles of it. Another day, another player makes a contribution to the ever growing tablet market. Gigaset does not want to miss the boat for sure, and they will now contribute another couple of Android-powered tablets that will arrive in 8” and 10.1” formats, where they will be known as the Gigaset QV830 and QV1030, respectively. These will not be the only entrants for Gigaset, as they have already penciled in plans to roll out additional models sometime next year. The 8” model will be made up of anodized aluminum at the back alongside a scratch-resistant display, while the 10.1” model sports a 2560 x 1600 resolution with 300 dpi, making it easier on your eyes.

Apart from that, it will also be powered by a quad-core 1.8GHz Nvidia T40S Cortex A15 processor with stereo sound suppose, an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, and of course, Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice just like its smaller sized brother. The QV830 will feature 8GB of internal memory, while the QV1030 already comes with 16GB of internal memory right from the get go, and there is a microSD memory card slot on both for expansion purposes.
