Quentin Tarantino Teases Next Film Project, Thanks Leno For Years Of Support On ‘The Tonight Show’ (VIDEO)

Quentin Tarantino got a little emotional during his last visit to “The Tonight Show.” This would be his last appearance before Jay Leno leaves the show, and Tarantino made sure to point out how important Leno and the “Tonight Show” had been to his career. During Leno’s first year as host — back in 1992 — Tarantino came on as a “civilian guest.” Back then it was practically unheard of for a director to be a talk show guest.

Leno had Tarantino on after he’d just written “Reservoir Dogs,” and the appearance was a big break for him. As such, he kept a coffee mug from that, and every subsequent appearance on the show, marking his way from being the “fourth guest” to the lead guest. As a farewell present, Leno gave him one last mug, marked “Best Director.”

And so Tarantino returned the favor, by giving Leno a scoop about his next movie. “I haven’t told anyone this publicly, but I will say the genre: It’s a western,” Tarantino said. “I had so much fun doing ‘Django [Unchained],’ and I love westerns so much that after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like ‘Okay, let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing.”

Martha Stewart Defends ‘Gross’ Food Photos, Promises More For Thanksgiving, On ‘Late Show’ (VIDEO)

Martha Stewart has been getting a lot of flak online for her Twitter food photos. Ever since the popular social media site added the capabilities to embed photos into Tweets, Stewart has been taking pictures of all kinds of savory dishes. At least, she says they’re savory. Based on the online reaction, though, they all look pretty disgusting. So she defended herself on “Late Show.”

Actually, she said she doesn’t get what the big deal is. She still calls it beautiful food, and thinks that people have changed. “People are interested in food, or they used to be. All of a sudden they got repulsed!” she said. Stewart went on to say that people got nasty after Twitter went public, as if the IPO had something to do with the response she’s been getting.

She insisted that they were “beautiful pictures,” even after David Letterman showed some of them too her. She did acknowledge that one turned out rather dark, but wasn’t seeing it the way Letterman was. “The thing at the top of the plate is … uh … is that a sandwich?” he asked.

Nokia’s Lumia 525 upgrades its bestselling Windows Phone with more memory

Nokia’s Lumia 525 popped up in a Chinese regulatory filing earlier this month, but now we have official information about this new budget Windows Phone 8 device. In lieu of fanfare or a Middle Eastern press event, it’s appeared via a YouTube video (embedded after the break) and a simple product page. Appearing as a successor to the popular Lumia 520, the 525 keeps the swappable covers (orange, yellow or white) like previous Lumia models and the polycarbonate style-jacking iPhone 5c, while doubling the amount of RAM inside to 1GB. Just like the earlier model, it has a 4-inch screen, the 5MP rear camera is still without flash, microSD storage expansion, and it’s powered by a dual-core Qualcomm S4 processor. It will arrive with Nokia’s usual Lumia apps, but with that extra memory it can run more of them at once.

There’s no release information yet on the page yet, while the website only lists Africa, Middle East and Asia Pacific. However, Nokia has said it will not be coming to the US or the UK. Fortunately, Engadget Chinese reports the 525 and 526 have been announced for China Unicom and China Mobile, respectively, at an off-contract price of 1,099 yuan ($180 US), shipping in December. This pricing is in line with the 520, aligning this as the pay-as-you-go WP8 option it appears to be, but we’ll keep an eye out for domestic carrier release info just to be sure. %Gallery-slideshow123399%

‘Awkward’: Another Relationship Collapses As Jenna Does Damage Control (VIDEO)

While Jenna was trying, and mostly failing, to salvage her relationships, there was another drama playing out on “Awkward.” Tamara had been determined to prove that Jake needed to work at being student body president, and when he wouldn’t, she’d decided to run against him. This week, she ultimately beat him.

But when she went to hug Jake afterwards, she found that he was angry. “I’m not being a sore loser,” he insisted — thought it kind of looked like he was. “I loved being president and you ruined that for me. You had no interest in this, you just had to prove a point. You had to put me in my place. Well, now I’m gonna put you in yours. We’re done. Take care.”

MTV’s viewers, though, voted about the break-up, and the majority of them thought Jake had reason to break it off with Tamara. She’d totally crossed the line. Still, CarterMatt was disappointed in the episode. “This was a pretty good episode for ‘Awkward’ in terms of the story, but we have to admit, it did not do much to actually bring in any humor or make us laugh,” they noted. “Isn’t this supposed to be a comedy at times? We like to think so, and that’s where it let us down in the end.”

PlayStation 4’s Playroom first game banned from Twitch streaming

Do you hear that? That’s the sound of livestreamers’ dreams shattering, as Twitch has decided to strip its directory of all shows that broadcast through the PlayStation 4’s Playroom. The decision comes shortly after the website started to crack down on PS4 streams that focus on non-gaming (and often risqué) topics, which is against its terms of service. From the sound of it, Twitch probably thought suspending accounts wouldn’t be a proper solution, because — as a spokesperson told Joystiq — a majority of Playroom content wasn’t related to gaming anyway. Those that still dream of fame with the help of their PlayStation 4 Cameras and new consoles shouldn’t lose hope, though. This move might be temporary, as the outfit says it could bring bring back Playroom shows once PS4 owners become more familiar with the platform’s gaming focus.

Bob Harper Comes Out As Gay To Help A Contestant On ‘The Biggest Loser’ (VIDEO)

To help a contestant struggling with his own sexuality, Bob Harper made the decision to come out publicly as a gay man on “The Biggest Loser.” Bobby had admitted on the show that he was gay, but he’d yet to be able to come out to his father.

“I haven’t talked about my sexuality on this show ever,” Bob said in a confessional. “And now, meeting Bobby, I really do believe this is the right time. I want to show Bobby that he doesn’t have to live in shame.”

“When I came out, when I was 17 years old, it was one of those things where I realized that there was going to be so many obstacles, but being gay doesn’t mean being weak,” he told Bobby. “And being gay doesn’t mean that you are less than anybody else. It’s just who you are.”
