Cut The Rope 2 Released For iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch

Cut The Rope 2 Released For iPhone, iPad And iPod Touch

Fans of ZeptoLab’s most popular mobile game have been waiting for a sequel for quite some time now. Cut the Rope was first released back in 2010 and since then it has become very popular, on both iOS and Android. Earlier this month it was announced that the much awaited sequel is going to be exclusively released on iOS. Today, ZeptoLab has finally released Cut the Rope 2 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. The updated game brings new characters, new gameplay mechanics and a number of visual tweaks and improvements.

The object of this game is still the same, players have to feed candy to the little hungry monster called Om Nom by manipulating the objects around him. Cut the Rope 2 gives players the ability to move Om Nom, while there are over 120 entirely new levels in which five new characters are introduced at various points. A number of new backdrops have been added too, such as junkyard, city park, forest, sandy dam and more. ZeptoLab hasn’t given a definitive release date for an Android version, but it is expected that Cut the Rope 2 for Android is going to be released in early 2014. The game costs just $0.99 and is available right now from the App Store. Players who find it difficult to progress in the game can make use of in-app purchases to make the climb up much more easier.

This Was the First Plane To Cost $1 Billion More Than We Expected

This Was the First Plane To Cost $1 Billion More Than We Expected

Delivering America’s military might to foreign shores is no small feat, especially when that might is the size of an M-1 Abrams tank. For more than half a century, we’ve relied on one of the largest military aircraft in existence to do so—a plane that ended up costing just a little more to build than we expected.

Jolla Smartphone Arrives In Europe Now For €399

Jolla Smartphone Arrives In Europe Now For €399 Jolla’s smartphone which was first announced in May earlier this year, began to hit the markets at the end of last month, where it is accompanied by a €399 price tag alongside shipping expenses that amount to €15 a pop. Apparently, the initial stock of Jolla smartphones sold out in a jiffy over in Finland (although it would most probably be unable to rival the Xiaomi Mi3’s selling rate over in China), and we are glad to say that the Jolla online store is now live, and has made sure that the smartphone itself is in stock for those who live in EU countries, Norway, and Switzerland included.

For those who happen to live in different regions, fret not – the Jolla smartphone is tipped to roll out in additional regions next year to boot. Jolla has so far gotten off on a pretty decent footing with its Sailfish OS, considering how the current mobile market is dominated by Apple’s iOS as well as Google’s Android. After all, Jolla knows a thing or two about smartphones, having been founded by ex-Nokia employees who were not too pleased with Nokia working on Windows Phone some time back. If you happen to live in an area that supports Jolla, would you pick it up? [Press Release (PDF Link)]

Samsung SM-G900F Appears On More Benchmarks, Could Be Galaxy S5

Samsung SM G900F Appears On More Benchmarks, Could Be Galaxy S5Samsung is definitely not going to stop at the Samsung Galaxy S4 where their smartphone business is concerned, that is for sure. Having said that, we have seen our fair share of rumors concerning a possible Galaxy S4 successor, which will no doubt be the Samsung Galaxy S5 if there is going to be a name attached to it. In fact, what could very well be the Samsung Galaxy S5, sporting the model number SM-G900F, has appeared in more benchmarks, with the latest “appearance” hailing from the AnTuTu team.

In the leaked benchmarks, the SM-G900F was caught running on a Snapdragon 800 chipset that will be accompanied by 3GB RAM, which is similar to the recently introduced Galaxy J, albeit with a revised Snapdragon 800 chipset, known as the 8974AC. Apart from that, there is also the Krait 400 processor that has been clocked at 2.5GHz, with a 1080p resolution and Android 4.4 KitKat in tow. Not only that, it is also said to feature a 16-megapixel camera, which is found only on the Galaxy S4 Zoom at the moment, save for the fact that the SM-G900F has a totally different chipset and display. Only time will tell and reveal all concerning the Galaxy S5 and all of its glory.

House Of Cards 4K Streaming Slated For 2014

House Of Cards 4K Streaming Slated For 2014

4K streaming is definitely the next frontier for the likes of Amazon and Netflix, but so far there’s no clear frontrunner in this race. Netflix might take the charge in 2014 though, its Chief Product Officer Neil Hunt told Stuff that Netflix is going to stream the second season of its insanely popular House of Cards original series in 4K next year. He didn’t mention specific manufacturers, but said that the option to stream in 4K will be offered through smart TV apps available on next generation 4K TVs.

Don’t get too excited if you have recently picked up a next generation gaming console from Microsoft or Sony. Hunt says that the consoles might “eventually” be capable of streaming content from Netflix in 4K, but it will take some time. Right now Netflix is talking about 4K streaming capability built into smart TVs. Hunt confirmed that Netflix is working with David Fincher on House of Cards season 2, “that’s all being shot and edited for 4K delivery.” Apart from its acclaimed drama series, it will also offer additional 4K content that will actually be a set of sample offerings. Hunt acknowledges that its going to take a while before there is ample 4K material available for streaming, but he believes that its important for the company to “get out front and begin to push it.”

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance To Launch This January 9, 2014

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance To Launch This January 9, 2014It was just a few days ago when we were talking about Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, touting that the PC version of the title is set to arrive very soon. The thing is, “very soon” is extremely relative, depending on who the person you are talking to. A procrastinator, well, it would be a very, very long time, so to speak. Having said that, at least we now have wind of the exact date as to when Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will hit the markets – we are looking at January 9th, 2014.

Those who want to play Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance on the PC will have to fork out £19.99 for it, and it will come with the VR Missions as well as the Bladewolf and Jetstream DLC chapters which have already rolled out for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, adding some more bang for your hard earned buck along the way. Konami claims that PC gamers can expect “new graphic adjustment options”, and in plain English, that would mean depending on the kind of hardware that you have underneath the hood, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will allow you to modify the resolution, anti-aliasing as well as amount of cuts you are able to make through the new Zandeki option.

    Vine Vanity URLs Launch Tomorrow

    Vine Vanity URLs Launch Tomorrow

Vanity URLs serve a much more greater purpose than just allowing you to pick out a really cool moniker for your profile. They make it easier for people to discover you, assuming that you have no qualms with that, and they are also much shorter than conventional URLs which means that sharing them is as easy as telling someone your name. We’re already accustomed to using vanity URLs on Twitter and Facebook, but starting tomorrow, Vine users will also be able to reserve their very own monikers, which will then be displayed as “http://vine.co/(username).

Registration for vanity URLs begin tomorrow at 9 am PT, at first Twitter, which owns Vine, will only allow those with verified Twitter accounts to reserve monikers. Users with verified accounts who don’t want a URL tied to the Twitter username can request a different URL, provided that it hasn’t already been registered by someone else. The average users will not be allowed to register until December 23rd. The process isn’t going to be too hard. Users will simply need to log into their accounts and follow the instructions to register their very own vanity URL. Once it is registered, it can’t be registered by someone else. Users aren’t compelled to do this though, its purely optional.
