League Of Legends’ Justin Carter’s Motion To Quash Terrorist Threat Case Denied

League Of Legends Justin Carters Motion To Quash Terrorist Threat Case DeniedSeveral months ago back in July, a League of Legends player found himself in a hot legal mess after he made a somewhat inappropriate joke about shooting up a school. While some found the comment made to be obviously sarcastic and made in jest, there were some who just weren’t going to sit by and take a chance and report the teen to the authorities. Justin Carter faced jail of up to 8 years and if you’re wondering what’s going on now, well it looks like Carter’s luck has not improved.

According to the latest reports, the motion to quash the case has since been denied, with the comment being flagged as a terrorist threat. This is definitely not good news for Carter, although the silver lining is that at the very least Carter made bail, thanks to an anonymous benefactor that donated $500,000 which was the amount required to get Carter out on bail. While this is definitely a setback, Carter’s legal representatives have stated that even if the case would not be dismissed, there are other avenues that they can explore to appeal it.

As we mentioned earlier, if it fails, Carter could face the next 8 years in prison, over a comment which made or may not have been made in jest. We have seen this happen many times in the past where a single comment, perhaps made innocently, blown out of proportion by social media. If anything this goes to show that whether we are joking or not, we definitely need to be careful of what we say on the internet.

Heroes Of The Storm Gameplay Footage Released

A couple of months ago, Blizzard finally took the wraps off Heroes of the Storm, the company’s first MOBA game (we suppose DotA doesn’t count since it was not developed by them). The game had previously been known as Blizzard All-Stars and was in development for the past few years, which is typical of Blizzard who has been known to delay releases in order to ensure a good product is released.  In any case last we saw, Blizzard had released the game’s cinematic trailer as well as some gameplay trailers, but for gamers who are wondering just how a game of Heroes of the Storm plays out, you will be pleased to learn that actual gameplay footage has since been released.

This footage shows us what the game looks like, right from the launch screen, all the way into a match itself. The game is played by Mike “Husky” Lamond along with the game’s director, Dustin Browder, where commentary on the game is provided while the game is played. Blizzard has also promised to share more news regarding development on a more regular basis from now on. Either way if you’re looking forward to seeing what the game has in store for you, be sure to check out the video above, but note that it runs for almost 20 minutes, so you might want to grab some popcorn and enjoy it!

Princess Zelda Will Be Playable In Super Smash Bros.

Princess Zelda Will Be Playable In Super Smash Bros. Are you sick of playing as Link all the time in Nintendo’s Smash Bros. brawler franchise? Well you might be pleased to learn that you will be able to play as Princess Zelda come Super Smash Bros. for then Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo Wii U. Zelda will also be adorning the armor that she inhabits from The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, and if the screenshot above is any prediction, it looks like she has the ability to summon the Phantom which is pretty cool. Zelda has always been a playable character so we guess this is just confirmation that she will be returning for the upcoming brawler.

Super Smash Bros. is an upcoming title that Nintendo plans to release for both the 3DS handheld console and the Wii U platform. Unfortunately at this point in time, it is unknown when the game will be released. We had heard the rumors that the game along with Mario Kart 8 could see a Spring 2014 release, although that rumor was quickly quashed by the producer of the game, leaving us to wonder when we might be able to play it.

As it stands, the Wii U platform is not doing particularly well, with critics blaming the lack of blockbuster games, at least compared to the likes of the consoles from both Sony and Microsoft. However Nintendo has always managed to do well with their own titles and we have to wait and see if the addition of Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. will help boost Wii U sales!

Alleged 3D Printout Of The HTC One Two Gets Pictured

Alleged 3D Printout Of The HTC One Two Gets PicturedCome 2014, many are expecting HTC to release a follow-up handset to 2013’s HTC One handset. We have heard the rumors which have suggested that the handset could be known as the HTC M8, although recent rumors have suggested otherwise, instead referring to the handset as the HTC One Two which is apparently not a single device, but rather the name of a lineup of new devices from the Taiwanese company. In any case thanks to a newly leaked photo, we might have an idea of what the HTC One’s successor could look like, which is to say it will look exactly the same as the HTC One.

This is based on leaked images of a 3D printout of the handset which is supposedly based on specifications of the HTC One’s successor. For the most part it looks like there isn’t a huge change in terms of design, although its edges do seem a tad rounder. While we can’t tell based on the 3D printout, the handset is also rumored to be keeping the Boomsound speakers on the top and bottom of the handset, providing a stereo sound effect when held horizontally. The device is also rumored to sport a slightly larger display at 5”, a slight upgrade over the HTC One’s 4.7” display.

If anything this 3D printout is similar to what we have seen in the past, but until we get the official word, take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully we will learn more at either CES or MWC 2014, both of which are around the corner.

Apple To Have Lucky Bag Sale In Japan Come 2nd January 2014

Apple To Have Lucky Bag Sale In Japan Come 2nd January 2014If you live in Japan and you’re looking to try your luck at landing a MacBook Air or an iPad for cheap, you might be interested to learn that Apple will be continuing their tradition of Lucky Bags for 2014 which are expected to go on sale come 2nd of January 2014. For those unfamiliar, the tradition of Lucky Bags, or “mystery bags” also known as Fukubukuro, are commonplace in Japan where retailers will usually fill a bag with a mysterious product priced a lot less than it normally would, but it’s usually a lucky draw of sorts and one can never be too sure of what one might “win”.

Apple has typically charged around $345 for their Lucky Bags and it usually contains items like an iPod, headphones, and t-shirts. However for some lucky few, they have managed to walk away with the likes of iPads and even MacBook Airs at massively discounted prices! Of course safe to say, these products are not refundable and can only be returned if the product is defective, meaning that if you did not win what you wanted to win, well tough luck! In any case this Lucky Bag shopping feature will only be available in Apple Japan, so for the rest of us living outside of Japan, it looks like we’ll have to try our luck somewhere else!

LG Confirms Wearable Products In The Works, Does Not Specify Which

LG Confirms Wearable Products In The Works, Does Not Specify WhichAccording to our previous report, LG is said to be working on a smartwatch for 2014 which could be known as the LG G Arch. According to the folks at Engadget who reached out to LG for confirmation on the rumors, it seems that while they will not comment on smartwatch rumors, the company did confirm that they had a wearable product in the works. We’re not sure if they’re being cryptic on purpose, or if this wearable product is actually not a smartwatch but something else entirely. Perhaps it could be the fitness band, the LG G Health, that has been rumored about?

In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but to hear that more companies are entering the smartwatch market space is no surprise. After all we have seen companies such as Samsung, Motorola and Sony attempt similar devices themselves, not to mention the incredibly popular Kickstarter campaign for the Pebble smartwatch which proved that one did not have to be from a big tech company to create a popular product. Speaking of big tech companies, the rumors have also suggested that companies such as Apple and Google could be looking to release smartwatches of their own as well, with Apple’s own offering being referred to as the iWatch for now.
