Taiwan FTC Fines Apple For Price Meddling

Taiwan FTC Fines Apple For Price MeddlingIf there’s one thing about Apple is that they are consistent with the pricing of their products. If one were to hop on over to an Apple retail store or online website, you will realize that the prices of their iPhones, iPads, and Mac computers are more or less the same compared to other countries, with slight differences either due to currency conversion or taxes, but at the end of the day, the prices are too wildly different. It makes for a pretty fair scenario but over in Taiwan, it seems that the commission for the Fair Trade Act is not too pleased with how Apple is meddling with the prices in the country.

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the FTC claims that retailers and carriers who have been given the right to sell Apple’s iPhone, should be able to sell them at whatever prices they want after paying Apple for said rights, although this upset seems to be directed towards the iPhone only as the rest of Apple’s other products were not mentioned. The report goes on to state that the carriers had to submit pricing plans to Apple for approval before their iPhones were able to be sold. It is because of this alleged meddling that Apple is currently facing a $670,000 fine which they can appeal if they choose, but if they were to ignore the fine, it is possible that the fine would then be increased.

Nikon D4 Upgrade Rumored To Be On The Way

Nikon D4 Upgrade Rumored To Be On The WayThe Nikon D4 was released last year and it seems that we might be able to expect an upgrade for the camera in the near future. According to reports, it seems that Nikon Professional Services in Japan has stopped selling the Nikon D4 through their equipment exchange program, which has led some to speculate that Nikon could be looking to release an upgrade of the Nikon D4. This combined with other rumors certainly does suggest that Nikon could be looking to introduce new products come 2014, and with CES 2014 and CP+ around the corner, perhaps we might learn more then.

According to the rumors, then Nikon D4’s upgrade is said to be called the D4s or the D4x, or something similar to that. Production is rumored to be underway already. Nikon had also reportedly put a halt of Df production for a couple of months to ensure that they would be able to push the new D4 camera out before the Olympics, which could explain why Nikon had recently announced a shortage of Df cameras. In any case the specifications of the D4’s upgrade is unknown, but like we said, with CES and CP+ around the corner, hopefully Nikon will announce something then, so check back with us later for the details.

Microsoft Could Release Surface Pro 2 Update Earlier Than Expected

Microsoft Could Release Surface Pro 2 Update Earlier Than ExpectedJust last week we reported that Microsoft had pulled the Surface Pro 2 update and while that’s fine, what was not cool was the fact that Microsoft had planned to release the update after the holiday season, meaning that Surface Pro 2 owners were in for a wait and could only expect the update come January 2014. Well the good news is that Microsoft seems to have heard the disgruntled cries of its customers who weren’t too thrilled about such a long wait, and have released a statement saying that the update could arrive earlier than expected.

According to Microsoft, “To ensure the best experience for our customers, we have taken steps to remove the update for Surface Pro 2 that was previously published through Windows Update on December 10th, 2013 […] We are working to release an alternative update package as soon as possible.” Granted “as soon as possible” doesn’t necessarily mean we can expect it today or tomorrow, but it does sound better than “after the holidays”, which was what Microsoft had initially stated. This doesn’t give us a definite release date either, but we will keep our eyes peeled and update you guys once we know more.

    A New and Improved nPod

Ben Heckendorn who created a portable 8-bit Nintendo console has improved the original 1.0 to be a bit more compact and smaller than the first! Of course it still has to be big enough to fit the oversized NES cartridges (you may even have to blow into them– they are getting old!). It requires 4 AA’s that are said to last a while, and also includes a head phone jack. The nPod plays the super cool original NES games like Super Mario 3 and all the other classics. According to his website, the prototype has been sold, however he’s planning to build more!

TITIN Force Weighted Workout Shirt will start your path to becoming a super saiyan

    TITIN Weighted Workout Shirt
While we may only be human, we are capable of what seem like super-human abilities. Of course, this only comes with a lot of training or practice. If you’re wanting super strength for example, then you’re going to need to be pumping irons or wrestling bears every day.

Should you be in the situation where those tasks are so easy that they’re boring now, then you might want to consider something like the TITIN Force Weighted Workout Shirt. This would put you into the same sort of training that Goku from the DragonBall series went through. He may have that whole ‘being from another planet’ thing on his side, but never let that stop you from thinking you could take him on with one arm some day.

Regardless of your reasoning, this would certainly bolster your workout to a new level. It would increase the resistance to improve your agility, balance, and vertical leap. This was made with a odor and stain blocking material which also has moisture wicking. It will cost you anywhere from $225-250, and won’t restrict your muscle movement thanks to the careful placement of the weights on this shirt. You can even remove the gels to heat or chill them for post-workout relief. You won’t be able to blast out a Kamehameha, but you’ll certainly be a lot stronger.
