NASA’s Voyager Could Be The Inspiration For A Musical

voyager-musicalI am quite sure that after reading this story, most of us would most probably not look at data in the same way, ever again. Here is where the lines which divide art and science converge – scientists find data to be something that they hold on to dearly, while as for musicians, well, there really isn’t anything much to say about musicians other than their obvious love for music! Having said that, scientist and musician Domenico Vicinanza managed to find a way where both worlds converge, relying on data gleaned from NASA’s Voyager mission in order to create a musical composition which is not only melodic, but inspiring as well.

First BlackBerry-Foxconn Handset To Debut At MWC 2014

blackberry-10-pbs-univision-viacom1Back in December 2013, BlackBerry and Foxconn announced a partnership in which it would see Foxconn help BlackBerry manufacture some of their phones. Now the good news is that if you were wondering how long it would take for you to see the fruit of their efforts, it seems that you might not have to wait too long. According to Terry Guo, the chairman of Hon Hai also known as Foxconn, it looks like the first BlackBerry-Foxconn handset will be making its debut at MWC 2014.  According to Guo, “We are working with them to design a new device, and we will showcase multiple devices at the trade show in Barcelona in February.”

Unfortunately the specifics of said device was not revealed by Guo, although many speculate that it could be the BlackBerry Jakarta, a low-end BlackBerry device that interestingly enough will not sport a physical keyboard, but a full touchscreen display, thus making it a low-cost alternative for customers looking for a touchscreen smartphone on the cheap. On a side-note it is interesting that Guo mentions “multiple devices”. We’re not sure if he means multiple BlackBerry devices, or multiple devices manufactured by Foxconn which could imply Firefox OS devices as well. Either way we guess we will know more come MWC 2014, so check back with us then for the details.

BlackBerry 10.2.1 28th January Launch Date Confirmed

BlackBerry-LogoAccording to the rumors from earlier, it was suggested that BlackBerry could announce BlackBerry 10.2.1 come 28th of January. Given that it’s been a while since we last saw a major BlackBerry update, we guess it wouldn’t be completely out of the question to think that BlackBerry would have something new to announce. In any case it looks like the rumors have proven to be true because according to the folks at N4BB, they have received an email from BlackBerry in which it was revealed that the launch of BlackBerry 10.2.1 would be taking place on the 29th of January. Sony NEX-6/NEX-7 Successor To Ship In April, Could Cost $1,100 [Rumor]

nex-7We have been hearing rumors about a possible Sony NEX-7 successor for a while now, although when exactly will the camera actually be made a reality remains to be seen. In any case according to the latest rumors from Sony Alpha Rumors, it has been suggested that Sony could be looking to announce new high-end APS-C E-mount cameras that will replace both the NEX-6 and the NEX-7, and that it is rumored to begin shipping on in April following its announcement in February. With the February date, it is possible that Sony will be announcing their new cameras at CP+, a photography-related event that will be taking place in the month of February.

Additional rumors about the possible NEX-6/NEX-7 successor includes its price. According to their tipster, the camera is said to cost around 800 Euro, which is about $1,100 when converted which seems about right for the NEX-7’s successor, although admittedly pretty expensive for such a small device. The camera is also rumored to have a faster AF system, a faster imaging processor, and improved image quality and EVF. In any case take it with a grain of salt for now, but hopefully additional details will be revealed come February. After all it has been a while since Sony announced the NEX-7 and we guess it’s about time that it got updated.

Alleged Windows Phone Voice Assistant Cortana Spotted In Video

It does seem as though Microsoft, too, wants to jump aboard the voice assistant bandwagon. I do wonder how will Apple’s Siri see this particular development – will they lean more toward being reactive, or will continue to innovate regardless of what the ‘competition’ have in store? Only time will be able to tell, but the latest rumor to roll off the mill points to Microsoft possibly developing a voice assistant that is not too far away from the likes of Google Now as well as Siri. Known as Cortana, this voice assistant for the Windows Phone platform has allegedly been spotted in action on a video that is shown above.

    Additional Fujifilm X-T1 Specs Revealed

Fujifilm-X-T1-camera-leakFujifilm is expected to announce their new camera, the Fujifilm X-T1 on the 28th of February, at least that’s what their teaser seemed to suggest. It wasn’t long after that photos of the camera made their way online and now thanks to new leaks, additional specifications of the X-T1 have been revealed. What we know so far about the camera is that it will pack a 16MP APS-C X-Trans sensor II. It is also rumored to sport a larger EVF, 8fps shooting with AF tracking, a weather-sealed body that would make it ideal for outdoors photography, a tilt screen LCD, and will come with WiFi support to allow it to make wireless transfers from the camera to other devices, such as mobile or onto laptops.

Well according to the new rumors, the X-T1 is said to feature a single card slot, as opposed to dual card slots that was previously speculated. It is also expected to be around the same size as the X-E2 and will not be smaller. There will be manual focus features available in the EVF, and will cost $1,300 for the body-only, $1,800 for the kit price, although it seems that there will also be a new hotshoe flash that will be included.
