Nokia Lumia 1520V Leaked Yet Again
Posted in: Today's ChiliWe have read about how Sony intends to prevent leaks of their upcoming handsets through a particularly easy method – by blocking benchmark apps from running on their prototype devices. It sounds like a no-brainer, doesn’t it? However, that move would not stop a potential leakster from shooting a photo of an upcoming device and sharing it with the rest of the world over the Internet. This is the case with the Nokia Lumia 1520V, where more live images of the device has hit the news.

Noel Rubin designed the user interfaces for Star Wars Episodes 1 and 3, and now he’s put together a sizzle reel, showing just how awesome the computer screens on those ships really looked.
In this modern day and age, I am quite sure just about everyone and their favorite uncle carries a smartphone around. Heck, the smartphone is able to do a whole lot of stuff on your behalf, especially when you are away from the desktop computer, with “there’s an app for that” being an extremely common mantra. The thing is, smartphones are also power hungry devices, and each time battery technology moves forward, the manufacturers themselves throw in even more features that sucks up additional juice to be in operation, hence offsetting the gains made in the battery department. Well, a Virginia Tech research team recently unveiled a new sugar-powered battery which could eventually replace conventional batteries in smartphones and tablets. The targeted time frame for this to happen? We are looking at a window period of as little as three years.

We may not have to wait long to get that Windows 8.1 interface tweak, after all. ZDNet hears from sources that Microsoft wants to release the upgrade, tentatively named Update 1, on March 11th. The patch may let you do more than pin Windows Store …
I am quite sure that nobody likes bloatware on their smartphones, as it not only slows down the entire handset, it also takes up precious storage space along the way. South Korea’s government regulators has ruled yesterday Thursday that bloatware could eventually be a scourge that is removed from smartphones, which is good news indeed. According to South Korea’s Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning, it ruled that beginning in April onward, device manufacturers as well as wireless carriers will need to enable users to delete built-in software so that additional room can be freed up for storage purposes.

This bra has a mind of its own.

Japanese lingerie company Ravijour doesn’t want its customers to settle for anything less than true love. That’s why it developed the True Love Tester, a bra with a mission to keep its contents contained until the wearer is really head over heels. Ravijour calls it “a revolutionary bra that knows how women truly feel.” A promotional video implies the brassiere could help save women from one-night stands with less-than-savory men.
The bra contains a heart-rate sensor and sends the data it collects, via Bluetooth, to an app for analysis. The app calculates what the designers call the “true love rate,” comparing the readings to activities like shopping, watching a horror movie, flirting, jogging, or receiving a surprise gift.
When the app calculates a change that correlates with a true-love rate, the bra unhooks automatically from the front. Yes, we have just discovered the flaw in the plan. What if you’re out in public, strolling down the street, and the object of your affection comes into sight? Spring. There goes your bra. Inconvenient? Yes. Funny? Maybe a long time after the fact.
