Yahoo Search Is Now Safer Thanks To Automatic Encryption

yahoo-building-entrance-sunnyvaleYahoo CEO Marissa Mayer did promise in the past that the Internet search giant would begin to close up any security holes that it discovers, and it is nice to see that happening before its self-imposed Q1 2014 deadline matures. In a nutshell, from today onward, any kind of search that you perform would be done from their home page, where it will also be routed through a secure server automatically without you knowing any better. All of this should be invisible to the end user as it is, and hopefully without any kind of detrimental performance along the way.

Microsoft Datacenter To Rely On Biogas For Power

ms-biogaasRunning a datacenter is no joke at all – it requires large amounts of power to keep it up and running, and this could in the long run have a detrimental impact on our environment if it is not powered cleanly. Well, In November a couple of years back, Microsoft did make an announcement that they intend to run a new datacenter in Cheyenne, Wyoming through the use of biogas alone. This biogas will be generated from local municipal waste as part of a research project. Fast forward to today, and Microsoft has lifted up the veil on this particular datacenter, citing that its power plant ought to be online sometime in the next month.

Rose Gold Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Makes Its Way To Verizon

rosegold-note3It was late last year when we heard of Samsung announcing the availability of a Rose Gold edition of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and earlier this month, serial leakster @evleaks did share the very real possibility of the Galaxy Note 3 arriving in a Rose Gold format on Verizon. I guess that day will come pretty soon, as the official images of the Galaxy Note 3 Rose Gold edition has been shared by Samsung. Apparently, this particular shade of luxury, so to speak, will arrive as an exclusive device only on Verizon Wireless, which means that other mobile carriers over in the US will not be able to make it available to the masses even if they wanted to.

EA Has No Plans For Future Titles On The Wii U

wii-u-domainThe Nintendo Wii U is definitely a console that is losing out on its position in the market, especially with the advent of the Xbox One as well as the Sony PS4. Developers play a very important role in making sure that any console has a steady stream of games that are worth playing, and while Nintendo’s first party titles have been more or less flawless most of the time, EA (Electronic Arts) intends to stop publishing more titles for the Nintendo Wii, after rolling out Mass Effect 3, Madden NFL 13, FIFA 13, and Need for Speed Most Wanted on it.

Blizzard, the ones behind the hugely successful World of Warcraft, has initiated a legal battle with Chinese game studio Unico Interactive, where it will concern a copycat Hearthstone game known as Sleeping Dragon: Heroes of the Three Kingdoms.
