HTC M8x Approved By Postel

HTC M8x Approved By PostelWhenever a particular device is well on its way to hit the market, you can be more or less sure that there will be additional leaks that make an appearance, and at more frequent intervals, too. With the HTC M8, we have seen alleged cases for the upcoming flagship smartphone appear, not to mention the UA Prof file being revealed, too. Having said that, there seems to be yet another variant of the upcoming HTC M8, where it is known as the HTC M8x, and was given the nod of approval recently by Postel. This is not the first time that Postel, an Indonesian authority which certifies telecommunications and radio equipment in that part of the world, has shared something about a smartphone variant, so it could point to the very real possibility of this soon-to-be flagship device to boast of two versions.

Minuum Keyboard App Runs On Smartwatch

You know what they say – it is pretty pointless trying to reinvent the wheel, so what should be done is this – to make sure that the wheel itself is enhanced to be even more efficient. When it comes to virtual keyboards, the original one that came out is pretty much useless and slow, until apps such as Swype came into the picture that made your virtual keyboard a whole lot more intelligent. Well, the Minuum Keyboard did make quite a splash when it was first announced, allowing it to be flexible enough to adapt to new and upcoming technologies, wearables included. This time around, the video above depicts how the Minuum app is able to run on a smartwatch – now how about that?

Samsung Smartphone Granted Design Patent, Could Be The Galaxy S5

Samsung Smartphone Granted Design Patent, Could Be The Galaxy S5The folks over at the USPTO did grant South Korean consumer electronics giant Samsung a design patent (No. US D697,886 S) today that depicts a smartphone which is large in size – clearly pointing to the very real possibility of a Galaxy device (the Samsung Galaxy S5, anyone?) which will not feature hardware buttons that are located on the front. Originally filed on July 20, 2012, this is a new design patent which made an appearance hot on the heels of another patent which was filed by Samsung, showing off a different buttonless handset that has some similarities as well, don’t get me wrong.

These 18″ x 20″ low-pile rugs are officially being called “mats” so I’m not sure exactly how plush they’ll feel, but at least your floor look much better with Paper Mario and Paper Toad hanging out on them. Both rugs are coming from Japanese collectibles maker FuRyu this April, and you can pre-order now over on NCSX for $18.90(USD) each or $35.90 for the pair.

If only These Tiny PlayStation Controllers Actually Worked

Earlier, we showed you a way to use an actual DualShock 4 controller with your jailbroken iOS device. While these are only DualShock 2 controllers, they will plug directly into your smartphone. Unfortunately, that’s where the similarity ends.

These teensy inch-wide PlayStation 2 DualShock 2 controllers are simply designed as decoration for your mobile device, but they are pretty cute and quite detailed. It’s too bad they’re not functional. Though if anyone out there can manage to hack one so it works, I wouldn’t be surprised.

They’re being made by Japan’s Union Creative, and are available for pre-order in sets of six from NCSX for about $27(USD). Buy a set, and share them with five of your closest friends.

Badass spider uses insect corpses to make a giant spider design decoy

Badass spider uses insect corpses to make a giant spider design decoy

Like in Game of Thrones, where the Iron Throne was forged from the swords of all the enemies Aegon the Conqueror defeated, this Cyclosa spider uses its dead enemies’ bodies to build a big fake spider decoy design to sit on. Seriously, the spider uses its victim’s insect corpses to construct a larger spider-shaped design on its web to scare off potential predators. That’s so badass.

Sign-Up To Test Windows Live Messenger 8.1

This article was written on August 24, 2006 by CyberNet.

Windows Live Messenger Logo Are you a big fan of Windows Live Messenger 8? If you are then you can sign-up to test out version 8.1 Beta so that you might get to play with the latest software. It doesn’t look like anyone knows what is new but I suspect that it is just bug fixes.

You will have to complete this quick survey that will ask you questions like “Using beta software can potentially expose you to bugs that may harm your computer, including data loss. Knowing this, do you still want to participate in this beta?” If you don’t mind the risks that come with testing software then you can go ahead and put your name on the list.

You will have to sign-up to become a Microsoft Connect Member if you’re not already one. It only took me a minute to become a MS Connect Member and the survey was real quick. They will stop accepting requests August 29 so you better get goin’ on it!

Coolest paper airplane ever and the plane nut who built it (Q&A)

This is Luca Iaconi-Stewart's scale model of a Boeing 777-300ER. Made entirely out of manila folders.

There are airplane nuts, and then there is Luca Iaconi-Stewart. Since 2008, the now 22-year-old has been crafting a scale-model of a Boeing 777-300ER. Out of manila folders.

Though he took off two years from the project while he was in school, Iaconi-Stewart has pretty much devoted his time to the plane, and it shows. Looking at photos of the model, even most aviation buffs would be impressed at the level of detail he achieved. There’s tiny seat-back video screens, overhead compartments, galleys, landing gears, tail cones, and meticulously made engines. Again, all out of manila folders.
