US Soldiers In Iraq Were Fed Ice From Unsanitized Morgue Containers

US soldiers have been on the receiving end of some pretty gruesome news over the past few days. As part of a Justice Department suit against military contractor Kellogg, Brown and Root, it’s been revealed that soldiers serving in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 consumed ice from unsanitized containers that also served as makeshift morgues.

Samsung Galaxy S5 Release Date, Specs & News Round Up

Galaxy S5 builds up on its predecessor, the Galaxy S4

The new year is well underway and we’re excited for all the amazing new technology that will be released in the coming months. For the past few weeks there has been an endless stream of rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S5, the Korean manufacturer’s next generation flagship smartphone. Last year it was rumored that perhaps Samsung will release this device earlier than originally planned to make up for disappointing Galaxy S4 sales, which is probably why it is believed that Galaxy S5 will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress 2014 next month. Last year, despite rumors, Galaxy S4 was absent from MWC 2013. It was unveiled on March 14th. Starwood Hotels and Resorts Testing Smartphones to Unlock Doors

Hotel chain Starwood Hotels and Resorts plans to start using tech as an alternative to traditional plastic hotel key cards. The hotel will allow guests to unlock their door to the room they are staying in with a smartphone.

The hotel chain has a location in NYC called Aloft Harlem and one in California called Aloft Cupertino. Both those locations will be using lock tech from Assa Abloy and the program will start in about 60 days. Guests at these hotels will be able to check in using smartphones via the Starwood mobile app. They will then get a text message with the room number and a virtual key allowing them to bypass the front desk.

The technology uses Bluetooth to open the door and works on any iPhone 4S or higher and Android 4.3 or higher devices. It’s unlikely that the program will be rolled out broadly any time soon because of the costs involved in changing lock systems.
