Could the Nintendo Wii U go through the same growing pains the Nintendo 3DS did before it went on to become one of the best selling handheld consoles? Or is the Wii U doomed to fail, thus leaving a stain in Nintendo’s books? Naturally the first scenario would be preferred by the folks at Nintendo, investors, and die-hard fans who love the games that Nintendo puts out, but unfortunately the reality is that the Wii U is doing rather badly. According to Nintendo, the Japanese company recently announced that they have only managed to sell 2.4 million Wii U units in the nine months that ended on the 31st of December 2013. To put things into perspective, this pales in comparison to Sony and Microsoft who sold 4.2 million and 3.9 million units of their console in a span of six weeks.
According to the numbers, Nintendo’s profits dropped by 30% although they did make a profit of around $99 million, mainly thanks to sales of the Nintendo 3DS hardware and its accompanying software. In fact it would seem that software far outsold the hardware of the Wii U and the 3DS, suggesting that the software was being bought by existing gamers rather than new gamers looking to get both hardware and software. Nintendo is also now forecasting a loss for the fiscal year of $242 million ending in March 31 2014, where previously they expected to profit of $532 million. Nintendo’s executives are also expected to take pay cuts, with their president Satoru Iwata to take a pay cut of 50% as we had previously reported.

Final Fantasy XIV Awarded Most Disability Accessible Mainstream Game Of 2013
Posted in: Today's ChiliFinal Fantasy XIV is Square Enix’s relaunch of the Final Fantasy MMO that they launched a few years ago. The previous iteration of the game was riddled with all sorts of problems that ultimately forced Square Enix to reboot the entire game, launching Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn in the process. For most gamers when it comes to playing games, we take several factors into consideration when trying to decide if the game is fun for us. Things like graphics, story, price, length, and controls are all factors worth considering, but yet there are more things to consider when you might be a gamer with a disability, such as missing limbs or limited mobility, vision or hearing.
That being said, the folks at AbleGamers have actually awarded Final Fantasy XIV their Accessible Mainstream Game of the Year, giving the game a 9.1 out of 10 when taking into consideration things like precision, one-handed gaming, accessibility for deaf gamers, subtitles, and also being able to cater to gamers who might be colorblind. According to Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of the game, “We are very honored to receive AbleGamers’ Mainstream Game of the Year Award. In terms of the visual aspect, especially how colour is displayed, we took in the players’ feedback and continuously performed updates so that any player from around the world can enjoy the game, and are firmly committed to this moving forward. I would like to formally express my gratitude to AbleGamers for recognising our efforts.”

Alleged LG G Pro 2 Photos Leaked
Posted in: Today's ChiliSo we know that according to LG, there is an LG G Pro 2 which will be the successor to last year’s LG G Pro, the South Korean company’s answer to Samsung’s Galaxy Note 3. That being said while we do know of the device’s existence, its specs and how it actually looks like remains something of a mystery, at least until recently where a pair of alleged LG G Pro 2 photos was leaked and made their way onto the internet, courtesy of a post on the DC Inside forum in South Korea. The photos aren’t much to look at and for all we know could have been easily photoshopped, but until proven otherwise, we’ll assume, with a degree of skepticism, that these are indeed photos of the upcoming handset.
