PlayStation Now Beta Testing Invites Sent Out

psnow-inviteWho would have thought 20 years ago that one day down the road, one’s favorite video game could eventually end up being streamed from a server somewhere halfway across the world? I certainly did not see this coming, and always figured out that cartridges and CDs were the next best thing since sliced bread (with butter on the side, of course). I guess things have really changed – and for the better, too, now that we are slowly moving away from physical media and to the cloud. Having said that, Sony has begun to roll out the private beta testing phase for PlayStation Now, where they have emailed the relevant parties with a confirmation link alongside a bunch of instructions on what will happen in the near future.

Swift-speare Creates Sonnets That Actually Make Sense

machine-sonnetArtificial intelligence has certainly improved by leaps and bounds over the years, where machine learning has been implemented to help out humanity including the possibility of discovering a potential cure for HIV. It looks like there are other avenues to take advantage of machine learning such as the realm of arts. MIT PhD student J. Nathan Matias has decided to take the popular machine-learning Android app known as Swiftkey to have it play with several of the Bard’s (that’s Shakespeare for you) more famous words, resulting in a bunch of sonnets that might just melt the heart of the party you’re trying to impress.

Sony add-on will let you graft a giant camera to your tablet

Whether you like it or not, tablet photography is here to stay — it’s only fair that slate owners get a fair chance at taking nice pictures. Sony certainly thinks so, since it has unveiled a new mount, the SPA-TA1, that attaches its QX lens cameras …

Drone Shield Alerts You Of Nearby Drones

droneshieldDrones could very well end up as the next big thing, as we have seen some pretty interesting drones make an appearance in recent times. The thing is, a new question concerning the privacy of folks around you is raised – will drones that are equipped with high resolution cameras be able to infringe on your neighbor’s quiet time as he or she lazes by the pool, sunbathing while your drone hovers over their property? I suppose to each problem there is a solution, and the Drone Shield system might be here to stay if drones take off among the masses.

DotA 2 Confirms Addition Of Phoenix

phoenix-dota2We did talk about Terrorblade yesterday which will make a debut over in DotA 2, and here we are with confirmation of Phoenix as another DotA 2 addition, which will be part of the New Bloom Festival on its third day of the reveal. It was pretty much a no-brainer or an ‘open secret’ if you want to call it that, considering how Valve was not exactly being conspicuous about the Phoenix after dropping hints concerning rebirth and renewal. While it is not exactly that huge a surprise, it should still generate a fair amount of excitement and buzz as the Phoenix/Icarus finally makes its way to the DotA 2 roster.

Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition Trailer Overdoses On Dukes

They say that too much of a good thing is bad for you, and I suppose that is generally true if you were to eliminate money and possessions from the equation. In the latest Duke Nukem 3D Megaton Edition, it does seem that one would overdose on the number of Dukes spotted in there, where it depicts the addition of 8-player deathmatch and co-op. Those of us who know Duke well enough will figure out that he himself would think that there is but one true Duke. I suppose it is up to the 8-player mayhem to let the Dukes, er, duke it out (pardon the pun) so that only one will stand in the end as the bona fide Duke.
