Dutch ISPs overturn Pirate Bay blocking order, get pieces of eight for the trouble

In many countries, ISPs are regarded as partly culpable for the P-word that’s now synonymous with the internet. We’re talking, of course, about piracy. Government and legal pressure has forced several ISPs to block sites known for illegal file …

Thanko’s USB Mask Shields You from Pollen, Makes You Look Like a Beekeeper

A Crazy-Making Day in the Life of an Apple Store Creative

A Crazy-Making Day in the Life of an Apple Store Creative

I didn’t know this until I went to work for Apple Retail, but their credo is "Enriching Lives." I never had a job with a philosophy attached to it. I know the Marines have one. It’s Semper Fi. If you see that on a bumper sticker, it’s Latin for, "Mess with this car, and you’re dog meat."

Guam Could Get a Missile Shield to Deter North Korean Attacks

Guam’s strategic location just 1,500 miles South of Japan’s shores make the tiny island a very valuable piece of real estate for the US military and a very enticing target for Pyongyang’s missile program. To make sure that Kim Jong Un doesn’t get any funny ideas, Congress wants to arm Guam with our version of the Iron Dome.

Chrome + LEGO: Unleash Your Imagination!

If there is one thing about LEGO bricks, it is this – they are virtually able to be anything, limited only by your imagination as well as the number of pieces available. I suppose this is somewhat akin to programming as well, where you have certain functions available, and with the right technical know how, you too, would be able to program some of the other functions that you would like to use. This is the basis for Build with Chrome, which happens to be a collaboration between Chrome and the LEGO Group that relied on WebGL, a 3D graphics technology, to be brought to life.

nokia-x-browsermarkThe nearly mythical Nokia X may be so close to release that Benchmark numbers are starting to appear online. The handset is also known as Nokia Normandy and under the codename Nokia RM-980. Typically, benchmark start appearing online when the device’s software is pretty much done, and optimizations are somewhat in place. Company employees are usually careful not to leak any names, but if the Benchmark numbers start to appear on sites like Rightware.com (the high-profile benchmark developer behind BaseMark X), it may indicate that units have started to go out of the Nokia inner-circle and into a second tier of people who are not as diligent (carriers, retail partners, government entities…) (more…)

    HTC-One-10

The HTC One was one of the few smartphones released last year that really caught the market’s attention.
