Edible Chocolate iPhone Case Looks Delicious

Edible Chocolate iPhone Case Looks DeliciousSo we’ve seen phones that resembles a chocolate bar, and we’ve also seen iPhone cases which have been designed to smell like chocolates, but wouldn’t it be so much cooler if the case were to be made from chocolate itself? That does sound a little weird but it’s apparently an actual thing, thanks to a collaboration between Grove, the company known for its wooden smartphone cases, and Charley Wheelock of Woodblock Chocolatete. These chocolate cases will be compatible with the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s, and the iPhone 5c although expect too much protection from them!

As expected of most iPhone cases, they will provide access to the various ports and buttons on the iPhones and according to its creators, it has been described as smooth to the touch. According to Grove’s co-founder, Ken Tomita, “This was a great opportunity for us to team up with another locally owned business and combine our crafts to create something even Wonka would be envious of. They’re not for sale, mainly because we can’t keep making them without gunking up our machines, but don’t worry, all the manufacturing waste is being recycled in our bellies.”

As Tomita states, these cases aren’t actually for sale, but they are a pretty clever idea and it might actually make for a great present to that special someone on Valentines Day, no?

Brazil Will Deploy Robots To Police The World Cup

Brazil Will Deploy Robots To Police The World CupWhich would be more scary? A human being police officer, or a robot? On one hand a police officer can be reasoned with and talked to, but a robot will be non-discriminative and will just follow its given orders. Both have its ups and downs, but if you’re planning on heading over to Brazil to watch the World Cup later this year, you might want to keep an eye out for robot police. This is thanks to Brazil’s government securing a $7.2 million deal with iRobot, a Bedford, Massachusetts-based company, who will be providing the government with about 30 of its PackBot robots. These robots will be stationed through 12 of Brazil’s host cities during the soccer matchers and will also contribute towards checking out any suspicious objects.

For those wondering why the PackBot sounds familiar, it is because it was used to enter to Fukushima nuclear facility as well as being used after the East Japan Earthquake and tsunami in 2011. The PackBot feature a robotic propulsion system that will allow it to travel as fast as 9mph and will have built-in flippers that allows it to rotate itself and traverse over rugged terrain like rocks, rubble, and stairs. It also weighs around 40lbs and can fit into a backpack, allowing it to be transported and deployed with ease. Other features of the PackBot include a GPS system, video image display, system monitoring, an electronic compass, and temperature sensors.

Samsung MWC Trailer Hints At Waterproof & Dustproof Features

Come 24th of February, Samsung will be hosting its Unpacked 5 event in which we can only assume the Samsung Galaxy S5 handset will be announced. While most of its features have been “confirmed”, it seems that Samsung could be taking some cues from Sony as well as their own Galaxy S4 Active by introducing features like being waterproof and dustproof, or at least that’s what the rumors claim. Now thanks to a new trailer released by Samsung for its upcoming Unpacked event, there are certain images and keywords thrown in there that would seem to suggest that those rumored features could be very real.

For example keywords like “wet” and “outdoor” would seem to suggest that the phone might have those protective features we talked about. There are also additional keywords like “focus” and “selfie” which are probably hints at the Samsung Galaxy S5’s camera. According to a recent announcement by Samsung, it has been hinted that the Galaxy S5 could pack a new camera flash unit that would be more natural, as opposed to current flash units which typically result in photos with very harsh lighting. Then again we might be reading more into this than we should, but either way we guess we will learn more come MWC 2014, so do check back with us then, especially if the Galaxy S5 is high on your shopping list.

How an Arm Wrestle Resolved a Major Airline Dispute

David vs. Goliath. Burr vs. Hamilton. Ali vs. Frazier. These fights have captured the public’s imagination like few others. On March 20, 1992, another battle entered this conversation. Herwald vs. Kelleher. Okay, so most likely, you probably don’t have any clue who Kurt Herwald and Herb Kelleher are and why they decided to match up against one another, but you soon will.

Oculus Rift Dev Kits Running Low On Stock Due To Discontinued Components

Oculus Rift Dev Kits Running Low On Stock Due To Discontinued ComponentsThe Oculus Rift virtual reality headset has taken the gaming world by storm. In fact earlier this year at CES 2014, the company unveiled a newer version of the headset which featured improved functionality and additional features. Unfortunately it seems that a commercial version of the headset has yet to enter production, but in the meantime we have some bad news for you guys as it would seem as though even the developer kits are running low on stock. So what’s the problem, you ask? Well apparently it’s not just a matter of creating more units as according to the Oculus Rift’s community manager on Reddit, the reason why it is not as easy as just producing more units is because certain components required are no longer being manufactured.

What this means is that will not be enough components left for additional developer kits. The team at Oculus Rift are trying to look for alternatives to these components but aren’t sure when production will begin again. However in the meantime, whatever remaining stock they have left will be rationed to a handful of selected countries. These countries include the United States, Canada, countries in the European Union, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Switzerland, and Norway. Of course what this also means is that the release of the commercial version will probably be delayed as well, as we’re sure the team will have to redesign it to make up for the now-extinct components.
