Lumia 520 Still Dominating Windows Phone In 2014

Lumia 520 Still Dominating Windows Phone In 2014It is not secret that the Nokia Lumia 520 is one of the more popular Windows Phone handsets, despite the fact that the hardware specifications of the device is not exactly what you would consider to be “high-end”. So we suppose the appeal would be the fact that it is priced affordably, and comes with relatively decent specs for its price, making it a value for money purchase. In fact we have heard claims on how it is the best-selling Windows Phone device and last we checked in November, the Lumia 520 clearly dominated the Windows Phone market with 26.5% market share.

However now that we’re in February of 2014, is the Lumia 520 still holding up? Or has other Windows Phone handsets since managed to steal back some market share for it? Well thanks to recent figures released by advertising provider, AdDuplex, if anything, they have found that the Lumia 520’s market share has actually grown. Like we said earlier, in November of 2013, the Lumia 520 had a market share of 26.5%, but with February’s figures, it would seem that in the past few months, that market share has actually increased and the Lumia 520 now commands 33% of the Windows Phone market share. If you were to combine that with the Lumia 521 (T-Mobile’s version of the Lumia 520, which was one of the most used Windows Phone handsets stateside as well), it would essentially mean that its market share is at 36.6%! Pretty impressive, don’t you think?

    Google Announces Project Tango

While Google Maps might be one of the more widely used mapping applications around and it looks like it is about to get better, thanks to a new Google effort called Project Tango that was recently announced by Sundar Pichai. What is Project Tango, you ask? Well it is a prototype phone built by Google that has the ability to learn its surroundings, like the dimension of a room and the spaces just by being in the room itself and as it is being moved around. For example with the user carrying the device and walking around their house, the device will be able to learn the shape of the home which will help create a more robust and precise map, which in turn will help Google Maps become more precise in the future. Call Of Duty: Ghosts Will Be Free To Play On Steam This Weekend

Call Of Duty: Ghosts Will Be Free To Play On Steam This WeekendFranchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield are pretty big, and with the games getting constant releases, we’re sure there are gamers out there wondering just what is it about those games that is so fascinating and entertaining? Well the good news is that if you did not want to shell out money for a game that you think you may or may not enjoy, how about taking Call of Duty: Ghosts for a free spin this weekend? It has been announced that Ghosts will be free to play on Steam over the weekend, and what this means is that it will only be free for the weekend, as opposed to gamers being able to download and keep the game forever and play it for free.

However at the same time the game is priced at 50% off its usual price, so we guess if you decide that Ghosts is the kind of game for you, then you can go ahead and grab it for yourself for a lower price tag then and there. In fact we wouldn’t be surprised if there are gamers out there who wait around for Steam sales before buying their games. After all with Steam routinely discounting their games, why bother paying full price when you know a discount is around the corner, right (although unfortunately not everyone appreciates these sales)? In the meantime, who else is looking forward to playing some free Call of Duty: Ghosts this weekend?

The real highway to hell is in Russia

This is the Tolbachik volcano, laying down roads of magma over the Peninsula of Kamchatka for condemned Russians to drive on their way to hell in cars equipped with dashcams. At least, that’s what it looks like in Lusika33’s photographs. It’s truly pretty—in a Mordor kind of way.
