Before we get into the concept art here, you’ve gotta watch the trailer for Jodorowsky’s Dune, a new documentary chronicling the eponymous Chilean director’s crazy-ambitious attempt to bring Frank Herbert’s sci-fi classic to the big screen in the 1970s.

Before smartphones and Fandango, one friendly, booming voice was shouting movie times into ears across America. Now, after 25 years, that voice and the cultural catchphrase it wrought—Hello, and welcome to Moviefone—are about to enter an eternity of radio silence. But as it turns out, the man behind the voice still has plenty left to say.
There is word going around that the new Sony Xperia Z1 Compact that hit the market earlier this year in January, with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in tow, ought to be on the receiving end of an update to Android 4.4.2 KitKat – kicking it off in April, of course. Let’s face it. Nintendo is going down the drain very quickly. Its 3DS and Wii U consoles have been unable to sell in the volume that previous systems enjoyed. The company is selling fewer games and less hardware meaning that losses are stacking. You might think that with people not buying Nintendo games and hardware that Nintendo would want to do all it could to take care of the gamers that are still loyal and playing.
That would be wrong. Nintendo has announced that as of May 20 it will be ending support for online play for the DS and Wii game consoles. The end of support for Wi-Fi Connection service will come on May 20. After that date, gamers will only be able to play games in offline mode. I know there are a bunch of Mario Kart fans out there not happy at all right now.
Nintendo does gladly say 3DS and Wii U gamers will get to continue playing online. The crux of the story here is upgrade to a new device if you want to play Nintendo games online. Boo Nintendo, boo to you!
The Sony Xperia Z2 that was unveiled at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, just earlier this week, is no doubt the latest flagship smartphone from the folks over at Sony. Well, it might seem as though a flagship device would keep its “position” within the company for a year or so, such as the iPhone from Apple and the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S5. Things might be done differently over at Sony, however, as Sony Mobile’s Creative Director, Director of Product Planning and UX General Manager, Yoshiro Kurozumi, shared on how he figured out that a half yearly upgrade cycle would be a whole lot more beneficial to the industry.

KDDI, the Japanese cable provider has just launched an on-demand gaming service. This particular on-demand gaming service will be able to stream the likes of famous titles from the gaming realm, where they would include Pro Evolution Soccer, World Rally Championship 3 as well as Sonic Adventure DX. This particular idea will run on the app-based GameNow service, albeit via cable. In fact, it would be the very same company that is behind LG’s Smart TV game service, although it does seem as though J:Com and JCN cable subscribers will be unable to enjoy the kind of titles that are on par with Devil May Cry 4 and Dead Rising 2 at this point in time.
