Star Wars Chocolate Centerpiece: The Dessert that Made the Kessel Run in 12 Parsecs

As cool as this Star Wars centerpiece is, I have to be honest. The texture of that chocolate looks a bit off-putting. At first I thought that the Falcon was trapped in an Imperial turd trap of some kind. Anyway, despite the unfortunately lumpy look of the chocolate, it is a cool piece.

Besides, chocolate never looks so bad that you won’t eat it right? This edible centerpiece was made by Cakes Cove. It has X-Wing Fighters on it too. I don’t what they are doing flying around this thing, but I’m sure it looked good on the center of the table.  It needs some TIE Fighters though. Give those rebels something to shoot at.

You’re all clear, kid! Now let’s eat this thing and go home!

GMail Might Show Froogle Results Near Advertisements

Google may soon be placing Froogle product recommendations in GMail whenever Google finds a product name in the content of the email. This is very interesting as Garett Rogers points out because this new service could anger some online retail sites. When companies send out emails showing their “hot” deals GMail will show recommendations for other people selling the same products, and possibly with lower prices. Companies may have to research Froogle before they start sending out their emails to ensure that their deal is the lowest.

CyberpowerPC introduces Zeus Mini SFF series

zeus-mini-sffCyberpowerPC has come up with their all new Zeus Mini SFF (small form factor) series of PCs, where there will be eight different pre-built models for you to choose from. As long as you have a budget that suits that particular model, you’re good to go. Depending on the model that you pick, it will cost anywhere from $599 all the way to $1,479, and will pack a choice of either AMD or Intel processing power which should be able to rival any full-size desktop PC.

Choices, choices. Life is full of them, and with the new Zeus Mini SFF PCs, it will be between a choice of three AMD’s Kaveri A-series processor models (Zeus Mini-A), or five different 4th Generation Intel Core processor models (Zeus Mini-I) which will begin from a Core i5-4440 all the way to a blazing fast Core i7-4770K at 3.50GHz. All of the processors in the Zeus Mini series have been mounted to a Mini ITX motherboard that come packed with the latest AMD and Intel chipset, ensuring that you will also be able to enjoy the latest technologies such as 802.11ac Wi-Fi connectivity and PCI Express 3.0 among others. Both of the processor options will include multi-core support and dual-channel DDR3 gaming performance, sporting a minimum of 8GB memory (RAM) which can be further expanded all the way to 16GBs.

Do not be fooled by the relatively small size of the Zeus Mini SFF PC, it is still capable of supporting full-size dual GPU video cards (!) in order to make sure that whatever game you intend to play will be able to be done in full graphical glory. You can choose between the following options – AMD Radeon R7 and R9 series for Zeus Mini-A models, while Intel-featured models will comprise of the Intel HD 4600 GPU or NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX Series graphics with Kepler GPU architecture.

As for storage, fret not – the Zeus Mini would deliver ample storage space from 500GB to 2TB SATA III 7200RPM hard drives, alongside an 8X Slim DVD/RW optical drive that is available on all models. If you’re going to pick up a SFF PC this year to complement your living room entertainment options, the Zeus Mini SFF does make plenty of sense – financially and from a gaming perspective.

Olympus OM-D E-M10 camera announced

olympus_omd_em10The world of photography has certainly improved by leaps and bounds over the years, and this has also led to a thriving cottage industry of wedding photographers who have seemingly mushroomed in recent times. After all, it is a whole lot more affordable than film photography as you do not need to have that kind of innate skill right from the get go – just shoot and pray that one shot out of the many will look good when loaded onto the computer. Still, this is not to discount the fact that eventually, quality work and skill will win in the end, and having the right tool would go a long way in helping you along your journey. With the Olympus OM-D E–M10 camera, this interchangeable lens camera will merge outstanding image quality, speed and power of the flagship Olympus OM-D E-M1 and the Olympus OM-D E-M5 into an extremely compact and stylish all-metal body.

We are able to find that it boasts of the new TruePic VII image processor which can be found in the OM-D E-M1, a 16 megapixel Live MOS sensor, Wi-Fi connectivity, a large, high-speed electronic viewfinder, 3-axis image stabilization, ultrafast autofocus and a built-in flash, making it the ideal device that will be able to deliver quality images without breaking the bank. Accompanied by the new , super-slim M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-42mm f 3.5-5.6 EZ pancake zoom lens and the super-bright M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm f1.8, it will also see the expansion of the Olympus Micro Four Thirds line all the way to 15 lenses.

It is also touted that the on-board FAST AF happens to be Olympus’ fastest-ever AF system that relies on 81 target areas which cover the entire image. Both small AF Target and Super Spot AF modes would also make it possible to zoom in and focus accurately on minute sections of the frame. The E-M10 can also capture high-speed action with 8fps sequential shooting, as the fast processor supports continuous capture of up to 20 RAW frames or an unlimited number of JPEG frames, and the Continuous Auto Focus with Tracking mode accurately tracks and captures moving subject as fast as 3.5 fps. Expect the Olympus OM-D E-M10 to be available this coming March in black and silver shades for $699.99 for the body only.

Google Web Fonts Provides a Variety of Fonts for Your Site

This article was written on August 04, 2011 by CyberNet.

Custom online font

Finding fonts to use on your website can be a pain, but a lot of people don’t realize that Google has an interface for finding and using fonts on any site. Google Web Fonts lets you see samples of over 200 fonts in either a single word, sentence, or paragraph format. The amount of sample text it shows varies based upon which of those formats you choose.

After you’ve found a font that you like just click the “Quick-use” link to see an estimation of how this could affect your page load time, and then also the code you need to add to your site to use the font. The nice thing is that Google will host all of the scripts and CSS so that you don’t have to worry about forking over the extra bandwidth yourself.

The site also has a “Collection” system that will essentially let you bookmark a bunch of fonts to make reviewing them a little easier later on. The whole system is pretty awesome, and I applaud Google for putting all of this together for web developers to use.

Farmer’s Fridge: Innovative Vending Machines For The Health Conscious

Over the years, vending machines have really changed dramatically, in
part due to ever-evolving technology that makes it possible for them to
break away from the norm. Even movies and television shows have poked
fun at traditional vending machines for their lackluster selection
(chocolate raisins just aren’t a meal substitute), and their
disappointing trend of taking your money without actually making your
selection accessible to you. Fortunately, vending machines are much more
than that, but for health food enthusiasts, most leave something to be
desired. At least, that was true until now.
