It looks like a 3D-printed mousetrap, or maybe some sort of torturous orthopedic device for your hand; in actual fact it’s what startup Tivitas believes will pave the way for … Continue reading
Genes, chromosomes, DNA. We all know it’s complicated, but who knew it could be so beautiful?
Electron microscopist Louise Hughes is passionate about microscopy and the genetic structures that she has studied and observed. And now they are available to wear as jewelry, as Louise has begun a Kickstarter campaign to get these pieces of jewelry in production.
Rewards include postcards featuring Louise’s microscopy artwork (told you she was passionate about it!), rings, pendants, earrings, and cufflinks that are available in XX, XY, XXY, or triplet of chromosome 21 designs. There’s also a ring available that features all of the chromosomes in a single piece.
For more information on the project and the rewards, check out the Human Chromosome Jewelry campaign page on Kickstarter.

Two weeks ago we got an unexpected Firefox 1.5.0.6 release in order to fix a critical bug. In another three weeks or so, September 7th to be exact, we should be receiving Firefox 1.5.0.7! Mozilla just keeps on pumping out these updates.
Their primary goal for this build is to address some possible security issues and any regressions, like always 🙂 . All of the nominations for bug fixes had to be in 2 days ago and the first candidate is scheduled to be available on August 28.
For more details you can checkout the Firefox 1.5.0.7 Planing Page.

I’ve heard of having a monkey on your back, but a dragon? Get ready for some fiery breath over your shoulder with this epic Dragon Backpack. It will make you look badass and carry all of your stuff at the same time.
It’s like having a special friend that you carry around. A friend that can kill with fire and claw if anyone messes with you.

Panasonic Channels the Force with Star Wars Lumix Cameras and Notebook Covers
Posted in: Today's ChiliIt looks like Panasonic is flexing its Force powers since they have collaborated with Lucasfilm for these limited edition Star Wars Lumix DMC-X51 cameras and SX/NX notebook covers.
Fans can choose from over 30 designs featuring all of the characters that you know and love like R2-D2, Stormtroopers, Darth Vader and others. There are many designs to choose from and there is bound to be something for everyone.
The notebook covers sell for ¥12,800 Yen (~$125 USD), which seems a bit steep when you consider that ¥19,800 (~$193 USD) will buy you a complete Star Wars Lumix camera. I suppose it costs a lot to run the Empire.
