Teaser confirms simplified branding for ‘all new’ HTC One (video)

We’ve seen reports that HTC would be keeping the name from 2013’s popular handset for its 2014 flagship, and today the outfit posted a BoomSound video teaser that seems to confirm the moniker. Taking a page out of Apple’s playbook, the “all new HTC…

These steampunk versions of a Dalek and the Doctor’s TARDIS are really fun. And shiny! Emma J made these beautiful steampunk toys. She is a member of the Playmobil Collectors Club. I had no idea they had a collectors club, but now that I see what is going on over there, I’m in.

The outside of this TARDIS is a perfect match for that wood-themed console room that the 4th Doctor used occasionally. This is awesomesauce all over a rad burger. I want them so bad.

Full-Size TARDIS Replica Made from Cardboard

The Doctor Who merchandising machine has reached down bestowed us with yet another piece of swag. A new product is coming your way that is really cool and reminds me a bit of the box forts we made as kids. Rather than having to get out the markers and a steak knife to customize your own cardboard creation, all you have to do is put this one together.

The finished product is a life-size TARDIS replica. According to the product description, the cardboard TARDIS measures 55″ square and stands 180″ tall. That second dimension doesn’t sound right though. That would make the guy in the picture a 10-foot-tall giant. Also, this TARDIS isn’t any bigger on the inside. It’s exactly as it looks on the outside – minus the thickness of the cardboard.

You can pre-order the cardboard contraption from Urban-Collector for $224.99(USD). The estimated release for the cardboard TARDIS is May 2014. This would go very well with your TARDIS cat condo.

Even the MythBusters can’t herd cats

“He’s like, ‘amateur.'”

That’s MythBuster Adam Savage, speaking the straight-up truth as he translated a cat’s interpretation of his attempts to herd eight uncooperative felines into a pen.

Can you herd cats? Well, as the phrase goes, doing so is among life’s harder tasks. So Savage and his “MythBusters” co-host Jamie Hyneman attempted to find out whether it’s possible. And their conclusion? Herding cats is like, well, herding cats.

'This is exactly what I will look like when I come back as a cat,' said MythBuster Adam Savage during an episode about herding cats.

The task? Get eight kitties into a big “cat corral.” Difficult? You bet. Despite their best efforts, the two simply couldn’t manage it, even when trying to pick them up and drop them in the pen.

These guys clearly don’t have cats, though. Because if they did, they’d know all they have to do is put a huge pile of fish flakes inside the pen and the furry friends would come running. Maybe cat-herding ethics prohibit such bribery.

These Prints Visualize Wi-Fi's Real Life Peaks and Valleys

Last time we checked in with Peter Jellitsch, the Austrian artist was using modern alchemy (aka a radio-wave-measuring device) to turn Wi-Fi’s invisible peak-and-valley signals into physical objects. Now he’s gone 2D, creating a series of diagrams that depict Wi-Fi bandwidth.
