Start Screen Background Spotted On Windows Phone 8.1

Start Screen Background Spotted On Windows Phone 8.1Rumors have always been around, and will continue to be around. After all, there is no smoke without any fire, right? It seems that the Windows Phone 8.1 update would arrive eventually with a spanking new feature thrown into the mix in order to make the Live Tiles to be part of the background image of the Start screen, as you can see in the leaked image on the right hand side. First of all, the feature, which has more often than not been referred to as “skinnery,” could very well split opinions right down the middle, so couples who want to preserve their domestic unity would find it more beneficial to talk about other subjects. As for those who prefer something more to the plain color themes of Live Tiles, the very act of making the tiles part of the picture itself looks appealing.

Flying man in wingsuit comes close to crashing into Rio's Jesus statue

Flying man in wingsuit comes close to crashing into Rio's Jesus statue

A good policy on all wingsuit jumps is to never crash into anything. A secondary policy to follow would be if you do crash into something, make sure it’s soft and not Rio de Janeiro’s 125-foot tall Christ the Redeemer statue. Jesus Christ may be forgiving but his statue made of 635 metric tons of reinforced concrete and soapstone is not.

King Pulls Back “Candy” Trademark Attempt

King Pulls Back “Candy” Trademark AttemptI am quite sure that anyone with a mobile device and remotely plays games from time to time would have known about the Candy Crush Saga game, which is annoyingly addictive, making you glance at your watch or clock a whole lot more frequently than you really should just to see whether you have collected enough turns to get another few more tries. King, the developer of Candy Crush Saga, has come under scrutiny in recent times for their controversial trademark application in the U.S. for the word “candy”. Apart from that, they also intend to trademark for the word “saga“, which has led to at least one smaller game company being targeted in the trademark application. King has withdrawn its request to trademark the word “candy” in the U.S., but this does not mean it will give up the trademark that it was awarded for the word “candy” in the EU.

Free Pokemon X Or Y Next Month From Nintendo

Free Pokemon X Or Y Next Month From Nintendo They do say that there is no such thing as a free lunch in this world, right? Well, if that is the case, I suppose having some free Pokemon would be a pretty decent substitute in the First World. Assuming you already own a Nintendo 3DS handheld console and have at least one of a half dozen select titles, you are set to rock and roll. Basically, Nintendo 3DS owners who managed to register their handheld and one of six select 3DS games at Club Nintendo from March 1st onward will be able to download a free copy of either Pokemon X or Y.

This Expensive Perfume Smells Like Pot In The Classiest Way Possible

Richard E. Grant is a noted teetotaler who played one of cinema’s greatest lushes in Withnail and I. Now, the actor is shifting gears by introducing Jack, a British-branded, pot-scented perfume, that—well, it’s like he went all Mad Libs on his next career move, because this just seems bizarre.

Xbox One Case Design Patent Granted

Xbox One Case Design Patent GrantedWhen Microsoft introduced the Xbox One alongside its case design in May last year, it did generate its fair bit of attention. Well, fast forward to today, Microsoft has finally received the patent for that particular case design from the good people over at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. For those who are curious about all things numerology, the patent number from the USTPO happens to be D700,246 and is officially for an “ornamental design for an electronic housing”. The patent itself is meant to last for a good 14 years, and I am quite sure that there will be future console generations way before the 14 years are up. Joel B. Jacobs, Scott Dullmeyer, Carl J. Ledbetter, Jonathan R. Harris and John Kenichro Ikdea have been listed as its inventors.

Interestingly enough, Microsoft first applied for the patent in February 28, 2013. If my mental math is correct, this particular design was just submitted to the USTPO close to a quarter before the Xbox One was officially revealed to the masses, going to show how close some secrets can be squirreled away by a company if they have the heart and will to do so in this era where smartphone cameras and loose lips abound. You can read all about our Xbox One hands-on experience here.
